I am using pro tools 8 on my older macbook and I cannot get the project manager to install and without the install I cannot download SD2.
I tried to update the browser but I don’t think that is the issue since the install program downloaded. I am not receiving any server not found errors. I am getting a message that reads “an unknown error occurred” and then it does not give any details. I have another computer that PM appears to be able to run on. So my second question is… if I run PM on the other computer (that does not have my DAW)… can I choose to download SD2 to my external hard drive that I usually connect to my macbook with the DAW? I would prefer to just install on the computer with the DAW but if I can download the SD2 to the hard drive I don’t see why I can’t just do that.
1. Any ideas on why snow leopard or mac or whatever will not let me install the PM?
2. IF I can get PM installed on another cpu can I hook up a hard drive and download to that hard drive so I can use with another cpu? (I guess I don’t want to download PM to another cpu and then get an issue where the program thinks its not the correct computer when I try to run pro tools on the other computer.)
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
if you scroll down a bit on this FAQ page, you see how to download on one computer to install on another.

I am sorry but I am unsure whether the Product Manager is supposed to work on OS 10.5 or not. I do not think so but I will inquire.
