Hi,
I’m using EZDrummer 2 as an instrument for Garageband’s Drummer, and it’s great. Snare, toms, bass drum, cymbals, hi-hat all work great. However, the
“Percussion” articulations are not mapped right.
In Garageband Drummer, you can turn on Tambourine, Shaker, and Clap. Interestingly, EZ Drummer has the same three percussion pads! However, they map to
different MIDI notes. You can see the screenshot — it appears as EZD would be a great fit. And it’s almost perfect.
Enabling the Shaker percussion instrument in GB creates MIDI notes A#3, but EZD expect D-2. Similar issues with Tambourine and Clap.
Would be nice if I could tell GB what Midi number to expect. I was hoping there would be a “Garageband” MIDI Mapping for Drummer, but there is not. Is Toontrack
interested in adding support for Garageband Drummer so percussion instruments work? Garageband Drummer just sounds awesome with EZDrummer 2.
Thank you

Thank you.
If I read this correctly, it means it’s not possible to use this for Garageband Drummer then. Have you guys at Toontrack tried out the new Garageband Drummer?
Personally, no, I haven’t tried it. It looks like a slimmer version of the Logic Drummer but since I have Superior 2 and EZdrummer 2, I never use it 😉
I guess making EZdrummer 2 compatible with the GB Percussion would steal articulations from the GM extended area, which would hamper EZdrummer 2 sonically.
