Hello –
Here’s a simple arrangement using Toontrack’s SD2 and Jazz EZX. MOTU’s DP 9 was used to sequence this piece, with VSL’s VEPro 5 “housing” all of the virtual instruments (VIs). In addition to using Toontrack’s Jazz EZX drum sounds, the following VIs were used: Orangetreetsample’s CoreBass Pear (Upright Bass), MusicLab’s RealGuitar & RealLPC (Acoustic Guitar & Electric Guitar), Native-Instruments’ Alicia’s Keys (Acoustic Piano), Chris Hein Horns Pro (Tenor Sax), Kirk Hunter’s Concert Strings 2 (Violins, Violas, Cellos and Dbl Basses) and Garriton’s GPO (Flute Solo).
A little about me. I’m a full-time ICU/CCU nurse. However, about 34 years ago, I graduated from Berklee College of Music and earned a Bachelors in Music degree in Film Composition. This means absolutely nothing except that my love for composing various styles/genres of music continues. You’ll hear a whole lot of “Berklee” in this piece! LOL! Also, I used to be a Lounge Musician working on cruise ships, many, many moons ago. I played a whole lot of lounge music in my youth.
I really like the configurability of SD 2 coupled by the realistic sound of Jazz EZX. Both allowed relatively easy mixing (which is NOT my strong point).
I hope that ToonTrack considers developing Orchestra Percussion sounds to their product list. That would be great!
Hope you enjoy this simple instrumental. . . . “Winter Swing”. I certainly enjoyed working with SD 2 & Jazz EZX while composing/sequencing it. 🙂
