Yamaha KP65 w/ Ion IED05MKII

  I’m trying to get a Yamaha KP65 kick tower to work with my Ion set.
  ( it’s just the trigger to midi setup w/ no sound module )

  Does anybody know what I could be missing here, I really thought just plugging it in would work.

  Is not the KP65 just a piezo trigger?

  I’m not getting any response out of it.

  When I touch the 1/4″ male cord end it triggers the sound.

  Any help would be great, thank you.
