Hi,
I just bought a Yamaha DTXPlorer drum set and a copy of Ezdrummer.
The problems:
1- DP6 doesn’t do drum maps
2- DTXPlorer doesn’t let you remap pad’s midi note
3- DTXPlorer doesn’t have a MIDI IN (only out)
4- EZDrummer doesn’t allow you to remap sounds
Four bad design flaws (IMHO) but I have solved this.
1- Launch DP and open your normal project template
2- Add a MIDI track and name it ‘Drums’
3- Add an Instrument track for EZDrummer
4- Hit ‘Apple Key – 9’ or go Regions/Transpose
5- Go to ‘Custom Map’
6 – Go to the LIST on the left hand side and remap A0 to C1 and G0 to A0.
* Do not use the boxes to enter this info as everything gets shifted. Instead, just click on the listed notes on the left hand side
7 – Give the Custom Map a name (i.e. – Yamaha Drums)
8 – In the MIDI track Drums that you created insert the ‘Transpose’ plugin and set it to ‘Yamaha Drums’
8 – Save this layout as a new template
* You need to save it as a template because DP6 does not allow you to import/export Custom Maps to other projects
Now your DTXPlorer kit will be mapped properly every time you start a session.
