I was going to buy Rock Foundry SDX, so I am glad I haven’t yet as FOR may be a better option. It is already the 5th where I am and no sign yet !!

Im sick of waiting so bought the Singer Songwriter EZX 🙂

Its ok for softer songs, especially 80s I’ve found, the towel preset is nice.

Surely you bought the top package for what it already had and not future packs. There has been quite a few new packs as well as the huge percussion pack.

I bought it for the main application and more so, the future support and expansions, of which I have many already. But its been a while now since the last SDX release, Legacy of Rock. In that time, there has been a few EZX expansions released, some I have bought also. Its time for a new SDX. One that contains new leading modern kits with the full pro mixed and default presets and the articulations of the last few SDXs Like Death and Darkness, Decades, Rooms of Hansa and again, the awesome Legacy of Rock. All of which I own and love. But, its now time for modern kits, I have more than enough of retro, vintage.

Death and Darkness is the one I use a lot. It works well with more than just metal etc.

More new EZXs coming and still no new SDXs. I bought the top package and invested a lot into it and jet the entry level EZDrummer is getting all the extras recently. And yes I know EZXs work in Superior Drummer 3, I have a few. But they rant as good or take advantage of all the Superior 3s capabilities.

I Use the Samsung T7 1TB and have a load of SD3 and SDXs on there, they load very fast and has Never let me down yet. No real need for anything faster than these for SD3.

That’s what I was afraid of…. So it is a no for me until Roland gets its act together.

They seem to be the only company left for me, and its annoying. I want to upgrade to Big Sur for many reasons, and basically stopped by Roland from doing so. I have my Roland TD17KVX kit and the Roland SPD sx pads, both need the new USB driver.

although Its a real pain that Roland still have not released their USB drivers for their Electronic Drums. So I can’t upgrade to Big Sur until they do.

Its in the Settings /Midi in/eDrums section.

Select the HiHat Pedal Tab, then click on the HiHat Pedal control button that appears.

added more tests using Decades on the above link. Nice dry kit and a towel snare for some Beatles tunes 😉

I know multi core doesn’t work in Logic, which is a shame. Wonder why? Im sure its a Logic thing more than a SD3 thing.

Be good for an automated way. But I do it like an acoustic kit by ear. Example was adding a second mounted tom to a Decade SDX kit. I just whack each tom and tune it by ear :). but that’s just one tom, it be good to be able to auto tune the whole kit at once up or down.

Im not the best drummer in the world, I just enjoy drumming and doing my own thing.

But I have quite a lot of videos now using Death and Darkness, Legacy of Rock and the latest five use Hansa because I wanted a dryer sound.

    Take a listen >

Note: most are recorded, mixed and bounced from Logic and may have some mastering added.
