When I purchased Superior Drummer, I, too, struggled with a low output. The Velocity trigger reached 127, but the sound did not cut through while playing with a backing track. After many tutorial forum posts, I learned we must build a custom kit. There are many presets with different sound levels and feel. For example, the rock kit sounds a bit high, while the clean kit sounds low.

When you open a preset like Club Kit Basic from the group pop/rock group, I observed that it sounded better for me and comparatively louder because it has compression enabled for some kit pieces. In contrast, the clean kit has no effects like eq or compression.

I started building the kit, using Club Kit Basic as a starting point ( as suggested in a video tutorial). I also enabled little compression on the stereo output channel.

Now, the superior drummer kit sounds loud enough for me, and as the name is, it sounds superior to the EzDrummer 3 or Addictive drums ( I have both)

The project is attached to this post. One can try downloading and using this setting to see if you like the sound.

Superior Drummer is not ready to play out of the box for every Edrummer. It is powerful, complex, and indeed superior. One needs to learn and tweak the presets to their liking, and the rewards will be very satisfying. I am going through tutorials and reading more about it.
