Sometimes if the note and/or leading note have a hammer-on or slide assigned it will alter the sound / volume of the notes…I do notice similar things, but I also always go in a nd go through the song/track bar by bar and do any little edits to notes / volumes / etc etc…hope this helps you somewhat.

Jord,
I just noticed that Logic has Latin Percussion available within the Drummer and Drumkit Designer etc, so I’m going to muck around those before forking out $160 AUD on the EZX…

I’ve ditched the Logic session that had this error, so can’t be sure. It was very early in the session and I was only programing the Kick, but I think there may’ve been a muted Midi track with something on it, which MAY have caused this, but seeing as it was muted, I don’t kow how it could trigger anything.
Anywho, I’ve sorted it out by re-starting that project, and all is well. I don’t understand why some users are saying that it’s better to use the Grid in Logic when programing EZD 3 – I used to do that, (as 99% of the time I prefer writing my own drum tracks) thinking that the Grid Editor in EZD 3 was only for using their Grooves etc, but I watched a Shootie School video and got switched onto the Grid in EZD…far far more versatile than using Logics’ grid editor.

Thanks Jord, I suppose I’ll just bite the bullet and pay up for that one. BTW, what do you find that makes the Latin Cuban better than just the Latin? I guess they’re the same price, so ig Latin Cuban has more goodies on board it’s the one to go for?

I agree Bear Face…I’m sure you’d have to specifically assign EZD to be triggered … as I said before, maybe it’s just “one of those things”… like a ghost in the machine.

Hello Cyril,
For EZD3 I use the Grid Editor inside it. I only use the editor in Logic for non-EzDrummer / EzBass things, such as Piano etc.

Thanks Mick,
No I don’t have standalone open. I’ve actually gone back and created a new song (same song, different Project file) and started from scratch, and so far so good. Maybe it was just a hickup in Logics’ brain? We shall see further down the track.

Thanked by: Mick AvoidantThanks Jordan. Apologies for delay in replying. It appeared without me needing to change anything, so maybe it was just Logic having a wee nap for Christmas – so all working.

SORTED … Dunno why the notes weren’t present but they suddenly appeared…onwards ‘n upwards…

Absolutely Yes…although I do prefer to play my own partsinto EzBass, generally “regular” songs, Ilisten yo Bach/Beethoven etc on high rotation in my car…Beats listening to rock music,, even though I do write rock/pop songs.

I find that after using Audio Sender and recording from DAW, I need to cut the ‘track’ which is on Song Track and then drag it (usually) back towards the start of the song in DAW…eg; it usually drops in a few bars too early (or sometimes too late) and it’s a fairly simple task to manually line it all up in the Grid Editor with the actual start of the song in DAW. Give it a go…

I’ve solved this by installing the Free Demo of EZDrummer 3, which seems pretty good, so reckon I’ll buy it…onwards and upwards…

Thanks Jordan,
I’m using the AU version on MacBook Air OSX Sonoma. Hopefully someone at Toontrack can sort it out, which I’m sure will happen eventually. The weirds thing is that I was using it as expected with full GUI, and only later in the session did this error occur. It also happens when I try it in a new, blank session in S1. Maybe a Studio One issue..? Dunno, but we’ll figure it out.

Thanks Brad,
Here’s the .zip of the session without WAVs. I did .zip it but it was too big to link below (3.3mb – I wouldn’t have thought a song data file would be so large), so I’ve tried including a Dropbox link. It should work for you. If not, please let me know how I can get it to you.
I just spent about an hour Googling around for how to disable MicroView within Studio One but could only find stuff regarding S1-V6, and I’m still on S1-V5, which generally meets my needs, so don’t want to fork over more cash for an upgrade.
Also, those vids were addressing the issue when applied to an FX plugin eg; EQ or Compressor, not an actual 3rd Party Instrument Plugin, which doesn’t reside in the slots for FX plugs.
I hope you can make sense of this. It’s strange that when I began that session (.zip) I was able to open the GUI as expected, and it’s only now, later in the session, that the GUI has disappeared.
