The change in timbre of the drums, from increasing the Velocity knob in EZD, can not be achieved by changing the MIDI velocity in the DAW-correct? If so, I think I’ll have to change my procedure in recording.
I started this project with grooves from EZD first, then started to add instrument tracks. A better approach may be to just put a basic drum track down then record other parts; then replace the previous, basic drum track, with one I can hear in the mix and could adjust the Velocity knob, as well as panning, mikes etc. as needed.
