Thanks!! I think I understand what you are saying here regarding getting this to work. I will definitely experiment with this. I also agree with you that a drum on each track will probably not be needed to achieve my end goal.

I stated that my DAW was Logic Express 8.0 in the last post. I understand using Aux tracks to put effects on, but I thought that each drum would be on its own track, for example bass drum on track one feeding to an aux track to give it effects, then snare would be on track two feeding to a different aux track and on…..
So you are saying that all drums are on one track? If so how do mix the drum levels and effects separately? I am not sure I am understanding so yes I am confused…..
I am using Logic Express. I have setup the software instrument track and when I select the plugin it asks me if I want multichannel. However even though I can see the mixer in EZ Drummer when I drag to the audio track it gives me one track for the full kit. I know I am doing something wrong and it is probably simple but I am stumped……
