I tried again today, this time using a more realistic tempo for the midi pattern I copied in. And I’m happy to report that tap2find found an excellent match!
The specific pattern I liked was from the Blues midi pack: Straight, Songs, Rumba Style 140 BPM, Snares, Variation 2. It was about number 10 in the results list, showing a 92% match.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks for the info.
In my case, I didn’t actually tap it out by hand, but rather I created a 2-bar midi clip (quantized) in SONAR, and then dragged that in to tap2find.
Excellent suggestion! I did as you suggested, but unfortunately the matches found (mostly in the 60-70% range) were not very close. Thanks anyway.

I noticed there was an update available today, and after installing it — all is now well — the manual appears just fine (both stand-alone and plug-in).
Not sure why it wasn’t working before, but I’m glad it is now.
The versions on I’m today are now: Plug-in version 2.1.1 (build 10513) [32-bit VST], Standalone version 2.1.0 (build 10421)

I went ahead and downloaded the update (even thought it didn’t mention 1.5.2).
I see the downloaded file is named TT288_EZX_PopRock_WIN_152.zip
I went ahead and installed it and all seems well … “check for updates” no longer says I need 1.5.2 any more!
I wish the 1.5.2 was mentioned in the update area, to avoid confusion.
Anyway, thanks for your help. I appreciate you’re taking the time to upload your screenshot.

Yes, I know about the update tab, and I did that before. But it doesn’t show 1.5.2. Here’s the screenshot of what I see.
Well, I asked around on the SONAR forum. A fellow SONAR-ite did a bunch of testing ( http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3195426 ) and found that the up/down arrow keys did NOT WORK in:
1) SONAR Platinum
2) Samplitude Pro X
3) Pro Tools 11 Native
4) Studio One 2.5
The only one he tested that did work, was Reaper 5 beta.
Given that it seems most DAWs don’t seem to pass the arrow keys to the EZDrummer 2 plugin, I’d like to:
a) See if ToonTrack can find a way around that, or if that’s not feasible,
b) Add little next/previous buttons to the Browser window and the Search window. That would help some (though not as good as a) ) .
Thanks,
Tom
Darn, still not fixed in the new version 2.1.0 (build 10421).
How disappointing. It’s been over 10 months now.
Yes, as I mentioned in Post 1, I’ve tried that … without any luck.
I’ve also just tried this in the latest SONAR Platinum, with the same results.
I guess I’ll also ask around on the SONAR forum.
Still happening in EZD 2.1.0.
Arrow keys work fine in stand-alone, but do nothing in plug-in.
Any SONAR 8.5.3 (32-bit) users out there who can try this, to see if it happens to them too? I’d sure appreciate it. Thanks.
Thanks for responding. I’m using: EZdrummer plug-in version 2.0.2 (build 9590) [32-bit VST]
on WIndows 7.

Yes, it’s on the list and will be fixed in a future update!
Thanks!
