Thanks for your reply! Found the answer below… EZD’s MIDI has the kick triggering on all three kick note maps, rather than just one as I had played it in Pro Tools.
But to answer your questions, I was certain about the velocity because I literally cycled through all 127 levels in my midi, and none seemed to match the tone that EZD was producing.
Using the Basic Modern preset/kit.
One verse of MIDI was from (and remained in) EZD, the rest of the song was MIDI on the Pro Tools track that I had played.
I have the Waves TG Mastering Chain on the EZD track, and that’s it for Pro Tools processing.
Ah, that was a great idea to drag the MIDI region out of EZD to compare. I found that there are THREE kick MIDI notes per beat, not just one. Also was able to confirm that I had matched velocity, but it seems the three notes were the key!
So I’m just dragging all my EZD MIDI regions onto the Pro Tools track and matching the Kick notes there.
