Like many of you, I missed the window for upgrading Superior 2 to Superior 3. As Toontrack can see by looking in my account, I invested into a LOT of libraries and would have continued to do so if I had simply been able to upgrade from Superior 2 to Superior 3. I’m not sure if Toontrack didn’t own the code for Superior 2 or if there was some legal issue preventing them from continuing to offer an upgrade but I will say this. I have NEVER invested in a piece of music software and then just been denied an upgrade to a later version until Toontrack. I remember upgrading a copy of Steinberg Nuendo 1.5 not too long ago. Heck, I can’t even *crossgrade* from Superior 2 to Superior 3 at this point.

Had there been a regular option to upgrade like every other software company out there I would have continued to invest in SDX libraries. But I absolutely will NOT invest in a platform that doesn’t allow me to upgrade the software I’ve purchased OR use any of the libraries as Superior 2 does not work on silicon macs. I highly suggest Toontrack has a long hard think about this and if there are legal issues figure out a solution because I’m the kind of custome r you want to keep. And currently will not spend another dime on Toontrack anything until I have the option to upgrade software I’ve paid for. Why would I even consider investing into Superior Drummer 3 when my Superior Drummer 2 investment has been rendered worthless. What if Toontrack does the same thing again and doesn’t allow Superior Drummer 3 users to upgrade to Superior Drummer 4 after a specific window?

It really shows the worst disdain towards your customers and there has never even been a clear answer to why. Just that it is no longer offered. Newsflash, that isn’t an answer. Superior customers are the ones spending the most money on your products. If those are the customers you treat the worst and abandon, then why should anyone trust your company? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me…
