Well, shoot, it seems like it was a simple update to SD3!!! I can’t quite update Pro Tools yet because of my OS, but plan to. However, the SD3 update seemed to fix it for the most part. Where it was consistently 24-37 samples off, it’s now like 4 at the max if that. Thank you for looking into this for me! I will be doing more work tonight, so I’ll see how it all pans out. Thank you again for your time, John, and God bless!

Cool! I actually plan to print them down dry so that I can process them myself. That being said, would it be better to use the internal bounce in SD3, or just route them to auxes and commit those tracks? Can you use the internal bounce on SD3 to bounce ONLY the channels you want, or would it bounce every single channel regardless?

Here is the .ptx file too. I created a brand new one with with two stereo instrument tracks; one with Superior Drummer 3 on it, and one with Steven Slate Drums 4. I committed one kick hit each on the grid numerous times for both tracks and the Slate 4 put the committed kick right on the grid, whereas Superior Drummer 3 consistently committed the kick hit anywhere from 25-37 samples late off of the grid. I tried that with the Metal Machinery and the Progressive Foundry.

Hey, John! Just touching base about this. Let me know if it’s simply just the .ptx file you need with no audio, and then I’ll upload that.

Also, on a side note, I like to print down my tracks. What’s the most efficient way of doing this, or how do you/would you personally do it in pro tools? I usually use SD3 on an instrument track and send everything out of SD3 to aux tracks. After that, I right click the aux tracks and commit them. Is that the best way of doing things? Is there a different or more efficient way of doing this?

Interesting! I believe I tried two different sessions; one may have had other plugins on there that were bypassed or not in use, and one session I think had just SD3. I will try it out again. That being said, do you mean JUST the .ptx file? No audio or any of that, right?

Does this seem correct? Are SD samples all cut to have some space before the transient? In theory, if I place a midi hit directly on a grid, shouldn’t the committed or bounced track be right on the grid?

Edit: I just checked this with Steven Slate Drums 4, and I did a test where I made one snare hit with a midi note right on the one of the grid, and after committing both tracks, Steven Slate Drums 4 is directly right on the grid where the midi note was placed, but Superior Drummer 3 is off by 27 samples, sometimes 34, etc. It’s never consistent. This will definitely make a difference in the impact of the drums when augmenting a real kit with samples. Is there a reason SD3 samples are printing not where the midi note triggers it?

Got ya! I just compared two different sessions though with the same SD3 setup. I’m just confused because the one that says Disk Cache is maxed out has the same amount of audio essentially as another session, but the other session with SD3 is only using 25% of Disk Cache.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering about the 3.1.4 update! I will probably do that as well! Thanks, and God bless!

Awesome! So, I assume I can literally just copy and paste whichever ‘SL-SDX’ folder to an external SSD drive and reset it’s location in Superior Drummer and I’m all set with no reinstalling anything?

    *Update*

I wound up hitting download again in the product manager, and it said verifying, and now is able to install part 1. I think the product manager just had to locate my download to see that it had already been downloaded? I assume I just do this for the other few that I already cleared in the product manager, and then I just install from there after?
