    I ended up using a different one of each of the toms from the Nashville EZX and tuned them downward a bit and added a little more compression and got where I wanted to be. So it’s all good. I mostly wanted to understand what was going on, so appreciate the help on that.

    That kind of seems to be the setting … for this particular setup, it is not changing that behavior even though with the Nashville tom selected, it appears to adjust that hit pattern. But I agree with you that the sound would not be great since it would seem to change the settings for all of the drum parts, which would not be good. Nonetheless, this gives me a bit of insight into how it is working. Thanks for the information.

    Perfect! Placing a MIDI region on the track does indeed solve this (not that I doubted it, but it’s super nice to see it working). And using the empty region as suggested by Jordan works a treat. Thank you!
