This was (is) happening for me as well, seemingly out of nowhere.  The suggested workaround of not ‘dragging’ the mouse, but making individual clicks; seems to work.  I don’t recall this being an issue in the last year or so.. pretty freaky to all of sudden have your much needed (and much loved) drum sample libraries misbehaving.  Select a new kit, no change.. no movement on the ‘loading bar’ etc  Disconcerting.
