This is a good idea. It’s an alternative/ option to using multi outs with benefits for exporting individual instruments as audio, which I used to do in SD2: but have had problems in SD3 due to the way the track assignments show up as channels. Ultimately the ability to edit, and then mix audio, instead of midi events would allow the use of channel inserts, sends, grouping and busses consistent, for projects— more efficient and allows us to route to external processors or our choice of plugins. I’ll follow. Thanks.
Sorry, I did this many months ago, in my studio, and the Sound Library was ” Progressive Foundry” on a USB flash drive, prior to SD3. At that time, there was not the detail of mic locations, however, I have seen these in the Toontrack PM portal app, in each download’s info, where there are individual DL files for sounds, MIDI and settings. I’m pretty sure the latter contains the mics, but you should check, as I’m a user and not an expert. Not quite sure. I would first look in the PM App’s and Settings for these locations, which are clearly available, and allow you to move, or add an alt location. I assume you’re using this app. Then you can look in Settings in SD3. I am unable to offer more guidance (I’m only a bass player) or give you a step by step with such specificity, so you may want to wrote support, have a look, or wait for more expert info here on the forum. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Thanked by: VeedgeI just encountered a similar situation w SD3 and the Progressive sound library from SD2 that came on a flash drive. I have all my SD drums on an external SSD. But my office system is lean, and I use for late night sketches with SD3 and only EZ 2 expansions. What you need to do is go to settings in SD3: and without a set selected, add the new location. I’m writing from my iPad mobile so pls forgive sloppy info or inaccuracies, since I’m not at the desk looking — this is from memory but I think it’s close
You should prob first copy your sounds from their current location, and then (after successfully linking to new location) visible in the Toontrack Download Mgr then delete the old. Also, SD3 allows for two locations for sounds, a primary and a secondary, which is handy. You’ll add your new SSD.
I was able to drill down and select the “sounds” folder on my Flash drive, and “open.” I’ll be going your route for all sounds next, then I can install all my SD2 and 3 sounds. Note, in the Toontrack PM see the tab to show / hide info which will enable you to see locations— and change them.
if you run into an authorization error, use the PM to easily change a system, because two is the max. Also, “Settings” in SD3 has two ways to access. Hope this helps.
