James, because we are a very big band, sometimes 9 members, parts are arranged very tight and specific for chordal voicing, but yes I hear what you are saying 😀
That was exactly my point Luke, it only makes a difference in tracker, I write all out bands songs and our bass player only plays a 4 string and even though I could raise anything below a low E an octave, it may not be the most natural way to play it, or maybe an entirely different riff would make more sense for a four string, that being said it does provide a starting point that I can utilise parts of and rewrite the rest. Happy with the product but was wondering initially if there was a way to switch to 4 string limitations that I was missing.

Thanked by: LDGIt would be fine in some keys and styles yes, but I do not just write Bass parts in upward motion from the tonic , say you were in A , in that case I may go to the b7 on a G below, or an open E For the 5Th on the string below, or the 6th F# below etc, mixed in with notes above the tonic,
Thank you, yes I knew I could do that, but it would not end up being a natural way to play a progression, you really should figure out a way to choose 5 string or 4 string in the bass selection, as there are far more 4 string than 5 string players out there 🙂 Hopefully that is something you can consider in future versions, or adding a note range selection where I could limit the dynamic range of the pitch from E on up… Thank you for your quick reply!
