I have not solved the problem yet…

the e-drums setting is set to “none”

and i’m using ELEMENTS 9.5 versison of cubase, not the LE

So when you preview a groove in the Search (or Browser) tab, the MIDI plays back correctly,

but when you drag it to the song track of EZdrummer 2 and hit play it doesn’t play back correctly?”

==> the midi palys back correctly in EZd2 when i’m reading from SEARCH, BROWSER and in the SONG TRACK when “follow host” is disabled

but, if “follow host” is enabled and i hit the “play” button of the host, the song track don’t read the midi file but start to read at bar 2863 in the SONG TRACK of EZd2 (while the midi file is set at bar 1 in the song track).

i don’t know if there’s a link but, the TRACK LENGHT of EZd2 is set to 2863378, and if i try to change the TRACK LENGHT for a smaller number (5 for exemple), EZD2 always start reading at bar 2863 when i hit the “play” button of the host and the TRACK LENGHT return to 2863378.

the trouble comes when i want to read the midi file in the host, when the midi file is in the the SONG TRACK and “follow host” is enabled OR when i drag and drop the midi file in an instrument track of the host.

to sum up, there’s 2 problems:

1- when i want to read the drag and drop midi file in the host, the midi file is not corrctly paly

2- when i want to read the midi file set in the song track (at bar 1), with “follow host” enabled, EZd2 start reading at bar 2863, not bar 1

excuse me but i didn’t find what you explain in the first proposition:
also check that you don’t have any MIDI In mapping enabled (in the Menu). ”
do you mean in EZd2 Menu ? there’s nothing called “mapping” in the menu of EZd2.
can you détail a little more, please ?

the second option (try to drag the groove to the song track of EZd2, and enable Follow Host) do not change anything.

this is a more specific example:
when i drag and drop a cymbal stuff (crescendo) of the modern vintage library, the host play just one hit on the cymbal, not the crescendo.
when i double click on the midi file to open the rhythm editor in the host, the crecsendo seems to be taken into account but only one hit is playing on the cymbal.

    Thanks for reply !

i “drag and drop” the midi file directly from the browser of EZd2.
“follow host” is disabled and there’s no midi file in the sound track of EZd2.
when i’m listening the sound from the browser of EZd2, it’s good.
But when i “drag and drop” the midi file from the browser in the “instrument track” (with EZd2 VST), it’s like the host change the contents of the midi file. it affects the rythm, not the instruments: if the midi file play kick and snare, i heard kick and snare but the rythm is not the same than the midi file read in the browser of EZd2.

perhaps the “elements” version of cubase is not compatible with “drag and drop”
but, in the UNSUPPORTED HOSTS list, only the “LE” version is not compatible with “drag and drop”, not the “elements” version.

i check my all cubase configuration, i find Nothing wrong…

    i hope it’s clear !
