I’m not using a preset.  The snare stack I’m using the 6.5×14 1980’s Black Beauty with the 5×14 Arcolite

The only processing is on the  “bus.”  UAD Distressor 20:1, 8 Att, 2 Rel, 10db GR on hard snare hits, mix 35% amd Kirchhoff doing some cuts in the 100-140hz range and some narrow high cuts

If I bypass the plugins and level match I can still hear the clicks.  I haven’t noticed this type of thing with Decades or State of the Art, but those snares are softer out of the box.

Also, I have noticed that sound in both those snares in the stack individually.

The most important discover was when I slowly ramped up the attack parameter in the envelope and offset panel.  On both snares individually and the stack, the spikyness disappears when I  get to about 8-10ms regardless of velocity

I should also mention that I am hearing it whether or not I use multiple outputs or just everything going to outputs 1/2.
