Well, in case anyone else needs to fix this, Olof’s suggestion is correct, but I had to hunt around to figure out how to do this, since it doesn’t just show you an Install or Re-install button. Here are the steps.

In the Downloads tab of the Product Manager, Updates section, click the 3 lines with the down arrow for the latest update. There you’ll find an option to Install. Select that. As you’re clicking through the install steps, be sure to watch for the box that has a Customize button and select that. The AAX option was unchecked for me.

The AAX option isn’t available in the main install package, only the most recent updater.

That’s what I thought, too. So I tried it a couple times, but it still didn’t install the AAX plugin. Went through and re-installed the core and the updates from the Product Manager at least twice, but still had the red asterisk and the missing file.
