No problem, glad I could help. Your other issue is going to be more challenging and I do not have the answer for you.
You’re experiencing what is called “Aftertouch” signals being sent incorrectly… or more so not as you intend. Aftertouch is the keyword for you to research. When you choke your cymbals an Aftertouch signal is send to do the choke, but it also needs to be canceled afterwards which is what I believe is not happening. Hence your cymbal stays choked, aftertouch is stuck on, is a way to think about it. But I am not an expert on this, just introducing you to it.
I believe this is not something EZD2 can solve for you.
I believe if you upgraded to Superior Drummer, it can be fixed. Please research that first before upgrading, I’m not advising.
If you use a DAW, you may be able to manipulate the incoming midi signals to fix this aftertouch release/cancel. Many people solve this issue here. You’ll want to find support from your DAW’s company in this case, not here though you can try.
A product in your Product Manager called Solo, maybe it’s free, might be able to help. I remember reading this once, this is a wild guess.
Googling “Aftertouch, Nitro, EZ Drummer 2, Your DAW” will shed a lot of light for you. Use the word Aftertouch when seeking support for this issue.
Goodluck.

Hey buddy, in the Nitro manual read “Editing and Saving Drum Kits” and “To adjust the pad settings:”. Change the note that triggers the rimshot to C#1 or 37 in your Nitro Head Unit depending on whether Nitro uses notes or numbers. EZ Drummer will not solve the problem for you, but you could try adjusting the kit presets in EZD2 as well.
With this method you can change any Nitro Pad to trigger any EZD2 sound.

Thanked by: ScottSince no one has commented yet, here are some ideas.
Unfortunately if you want to do something like this with Toontrack software I think upgrading to Superior drummer is your only option. I’m not saying for sure though. It’s a different workflow, but equally as effective.
Can Impact XT pass-thru the midi it’s receiving from Studio 1? If so, maybe you could record that midi, and then feed that new midi track to EZD2.
Or if Impact XT can pass-thru midi, maybe you can ask EZD2 to use Impact XT as it’s Midi Input.
May want to reference Studio 1/Impact XT forums or support if you want to investigate the later.
These are just theories.

I assume you mean rimshot, not rimshock.
Each midi trigger (zone) does one thing. Multiple triggers can be in one vdrum pad that you’re hitting, most snares have an outerzone that would trigger the rimshot. I can only speak for the products I use, but I doubt you would hit both inner and outer zones at the same time to create a rimshot.
According to the manual of your head unit there is a Snare Rim note. SO if the snare pad that is plugged into your head unit has more than one zone to hit, you’re all set to hit either the center of your pad, or the side of our pad.

You didn’t mention whether your changed the v-drum setting to Alesis or not. You could try that first….

Alesis may use numbers as midi notes…

EZ Drummer 2 can not fix your problem. Go into your Alesis Crimson II kit manual and look up Trigger Settings. And change the current pad articulation (rim shot for example) that is not triggering correctly to the appropriate note for the EZ Drummer 2 articulation. The appropriate notes can be found in my screen cap. This is a common workflow.

I don’t have an answer for you, but maybe some things to conciser.
In the bottom right of EZD2 your orange “Midi In” is illuminated. That is not necessary when just playing back EZD2. Maybe some hardware/software is sending a midi message to EZD2 that is limiting it’s playback. That’s a complete guess.
Try loading a fresh EZD2 track in MPC, maybe even try a new MPC session as well. Try dragging your midi out of EZD2 directly to a MPC midi/instrument track. And see if EZD2 will trigger the midi files ‘that way’ since your play head in MPC continues past measure 5. I can explain that better if you’re new to EZD2.
These are just things I would check out on my end if I used MPC, which I don’t. Maybe you describing the problem a little better may encourage others to chime in. If my post encourages any other observations on your end, do post then, I’m curious.
Good luck!

You’re on the right track.
If you buy Toontrack EZX packs, those have different sounds and addition midi libraries.
On top of that, you can buy additional Toontrack Midi Packs, which provide more addition midi libraries (but not sounds).

Thanked by: MondonFred, did you figure your problem out yet?
The way you have explained your issue, it’s hard for me to imagine what your problem is. Maybe you should send a screen cap from MPC.
Multiple sequences can mean many things without more information.

Thanked by: Fred ALPIHi Mike. So many options for workflow, that’s why EZ Drummer is soooo awseome!
First of all, if you use a DAW, then you can access the One Shot/Claps via the C#-2 key in your piano roll or on your hardware keyboard/VKit.
If you don’t use a DAW, you could find a pattern on any drum instrument you like from any midi file in your EZ Drummer 2 Library “ANY”… A kick pattern, a hi-hat pattern, or a tambourine. After you drag that pattern to the Song Track (timeline), double click it, to open it in your Edit Play Style window. In this window, right click on the drum you want to copy or cut the pattern ‘from’, them right click on the One Shot/Claps and paste…. and Ka-Bammo, you now have your clap pattern.
Want to perform your own clap pattern? Open up the Tap2Find window on the Search Page. Simply tap with your mouse, keyboard or Vdrums the pattern you want the clap to play. After clicking Show Results, drag your new midi block from the Tap2Find’s midi drop zone to the Song Track. Do you like that new midi file you just created and want to keep it for future projects? Drag it to your Use Midi folder and store it.
Trying to program or perform your percussion but it is not triggering correctly? Check out this advanced video about Futurehit and how to tame it… https://youtu.be/lP0na1BP8rk
Good luck, hope that clears it up for you.

Thanked by: SilimtaoFrom a previous 2016 response….
“For many EZXs ‘Optimized’ is the same as ‘On’ but for some EZXs we have
found that it is better to turn some humanization off for a few instruments.”
I’ve never changed from the default myself. According to the quote above, if I ever hear something that’s off or stiff, I may experiment.
