Right clicking the groove and selecting Find doesn’t work? You didn’t quote any of the previous posts so I’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to.

On the Grid Editor near the bottom where it says Velocity. Click there to expand the midi values editor. If you see a CC# assigned to snare, then you have the positioning attribute. Older EZXs for the most part will not have it.
The data written here while you record your edrums is what changes your articulation.
I’m not big into this stuff, so my terms may be off.

Thanked by: Scott Eshleman and mjnowakThis has only happened to me before from certain 3rd party midi products that do not write the tempo in the meta data correctly. This is the fault of the company providing the midi. Would take too much labor to correct, unless someone has a recommendation for a program that can batch process midi collections.
Where is this midi from?

User Presets>Manage in Finder/Explorer.
Rename what you want starting with “01_, 02_, 03_, 04_”
For example,
01_My Kit
02_My Next Kit
Restart EZDrummer when done.
Or load you custom preset and save-as with the naming convention above.

I use a Roland kit that can do it as well. We are talking about “trigger”ing Toontrack products though. I believe the answer is no.
You can trigger a brush swirl, but you cannot control it’s duration, therefore, useless. It’s for programming only to my knowledge.
I can only assume I’m using the correct terminology.
It’s a bummer, but I know of no software whether Toontrack or not that can do this.

I don’t know if Efnote has figured this out, but it is highly doubtful any ekit can accurately trigger a brush swirl. Brush hits only. I’ve asked some advanced people out there with no success. The vdrums.com forums are great for advanced research like this.

All SD midi works with EZ.
Some of the mapping will be off. The foundational stuff like kick, snare, hats and so on will be fine. So all beats will still sound like beats. If the N.Y. SDX has a special instrument that your currently loaded EZX does not also have, it will either not sound off or trigger an unintentional instrument. I constantly use midi from one product in a different one. 99% smooth experience, and a simple fix when not.
Nir Z… I can’t confirm. But Toontrack disclaims all. I do not see a disclaimer for this. Probably exclusive midi.

Thanked by: fcarosoneJust tested this one more time over 2 years later. Loaded a preset, turned volumes down a bit to about -27db. Relaunched session, the volume is -16db. I haven’t used this product once since I bought it due to this.

Thanked by: thunderhermitsI’d stay tuned on this thread incase someone has info I’ve missed. This is my conclusion from a year or so back.
Yes you are correct about EZ. But I do not believe any 3rd party software has figured this out yet. So stick with the hardware that can do it.
I imagine you could use analog out from your Roland and send that to an audio interface or FOH. Turn down the volume of the rest of the drums if you only want the snare. And for a hybrid experience you could use the rest of your kit with EZ and simply unload the snare from the Drums Tab.

Swirls do not work. Only brush hits. You could figure out to trigger a swirl, but you can’t control it.
Point being, just load a brush hit into your snare drum, or re-assign your module’s snare to send out the correct midi note for a brush hit.
From my article on the topic…
“EDrumming with Brush Sounds:
When it comes to using brush sounds on ekits or midi controllers there are limitations. Regular brush articulations that are simply striking the instrument work like any other standard drum sound. But swirls or sustaining brush articulations are not intended to be used with edrums. These are more for building songs with the corresponding Toontrack midi or programming beats using the Grid Editor or your DAW’s piano roll. It is possible to simply midi-learn a swirl articulation to a drum pad on your ekit, but these articulations have a duration and speed that cannot be controlled in realtime. Simply put, swirl articulations do not yet integrated into live performance. I read some posts in the past of users having complex workarounds to get this to work to some degree, but it is not the intended use of the software (yet), and beyond anything I want to pursue myself. In the past when working with an edrummer that demands a brush swirl articulation, i would use a capable edrum module and it’s sounds for the snare.”

Thanked by: BleedFunkAll will work just as good in EZD3.
The product Manager will update all for you.
Newer packs are certainly bigger with more content. Can’t comment to your specific concerns though.

Thanked by: rixaJust a strong assumption for you. If you can get streamdeck to send a midi CC value, you can probably do it. So maybe ask a streamdeck community about that. I predict you may need two buttons, one for play and one for stop. I’m curious about this due to your question, I just don’t have time to go after it myself right away.
