Only an ego could disagree at this point after being laid out so clearly. Find a DAW, watch a youtube video on it to get started, and start kicking some $SS!! Let’s do it 🙂

Thanked by: dctoe and BradGreat to hear! You could suggest it in the feedback forum.
I don’t think a lot of people are trying to do what you’re doing IMO, so supply and demand.

Thanked by: BradSo I’ve deciding to give this video to a certain group. I will leave it unlisted for a few days for you though so you have a chance to check out my workflow in GB. Which is the same as any DAW, just working around a few limitations. Hope it helps…

Thanked by: JohnWhat’s crazy is there is no top video result on YouTube for exactly this. I’ll make one later if I have time today. If you’re patient, wait for it. If not, I gave you step by step instructions above.

I’m telling you the industry standard of all DAWs.
You can record the midi into GarageBand instead, but due to it’s limitations for mixing (unlike Logic and every other DAW), I suggest what’s in my previous post to record into SD3.
What I’m telling you is common, unless you have low computer specs and your computer can’t play superior drummer in real-time.
If I was wrong, the Toontrack mods would have taken over the discussion. Dive in 😉

No prob.
If GB see’s your ekit and can record midi, it should pass it through to SD. With that said…
Load SD3 as a AU plugin in GB, do not record enable the track.
Open SD3, record enable in SD3 (near the play button).
Hit space bar to play GB and midi will record in to SD3.
No audio has been recorded, yet SD3 is playing in stereo with your song.
Mix time? Use the Track menu in SD3 to export stems, unless you have tempo changes.
I’m not a GB user, but I might be able to answer more than this.

Last I checked you can’t route SD3 out to Garageband. If you record your midi within SD3 while using it as a plugin in Garageband, you can export audio stems out of SD3 to import back into Garageband to mix. Logic would add the option of routing if you prefer.
If you need a rough stereo track for reference, SD3 provides it by default. Or you could export that as well in the meantime.

Is this an AI bot? It’s echoing answers and promoting in it’s signature only having one single post. Haven’t seen this yet here.

A DAW is mandatory. Great advice for some looking for the fastest and most accurate answer to the question. Liked by two other guys who endlessly support Toontrack users at their own expense plus Jord coming in to try help people see the light before they waste too much time playing around. I’m speaking for myself, but this is a great community.
If a DAW’s footprint is bringing your computer down, you’re probably having a hard time with using EZDrummer 3 in standalone.
The market should pressure Toontrack into making “EZDAW”. I’d love to see it. Until then, DAW is king. It’s not an opinion according to the topic.
To any other onlookers. If you’re using Toontrack products in standalone mode and you’re not an edrummer/keyboardist performing live, you are wasting an endless amount of time (besides simple tasks) with workarounds than it takes to learn the basics of a DAW. A DAW is free on MAC, and one of the most reputable DAW’s on PC called Reaper is only $60… never mind free limited DAWs from companies such as Pro Tools and so on to get you started without an investment up front.

Thanked by: Brad, Bear-Faced Cow and Scott EshlemanIt’s time to think about freeing up hard drive space or getting a new hard drive. EZD3 does not directly replace EZD2. They are two separate plugins and programs that have their own assets. .

Not sure what the best endgame method for you is.
Having both EZD & EZB open at the same time. You can drag a Groove from EZD right into EZB, so the whole beat will be in EZB, C1 is your kick drum.
I prefer midi in the plugins, but in this case maybe drag all of you midi out of EZB and EZD into their own tracks into Studio One. I don’t use the midi editor in Studio One, but most DAWs let you overlay your midi on top of each other so you can see and edit the differences.
Something to toy with just so you know it’s available. Grab a Groove from EZD and drag into EZBass’s Drums and Bass Tab. I don’t think the results will be perfect for what you’re going for, but it was my first thought.
You could Copy the Groove in EZ, Paste>Only>Kick back into EZ. And now you could drag just the kick drum over to EZBass.
I feel like there may be other ways or other ideas for your end game. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Thanked by: savazWe’re looking at vertical keys on the Keys Tab. The bottom of the keys are high velocity and the tops are low velocity. This is intended for auditioning, not recording. SO you can quickly audition the sound of a preset.
The Humanize button is at the top of the Grid Editor for drawing notes in at a consistent velocity. After deselecting, it will constantly draw the last velocity level used.
My opinion… The average user is either using the EZKeys included midi or drawing the midi in themselves. If you want to perform/record with ezkeys, the typical situation is you have a keyboard plugged into it or you’re sending midi to it from another program.
The things that are throwing you off are great features that EZkeys has to offer, IMO. You will get a workflow going and be trailblazing soon.
