“it deletes my midi from the first riff and starts it all over again.”

The idea is you already committed that midi that to your song track. The work is all done on Riff 1. So it’s not an issues if you start all over again with your second riff. WHen that riff is done, you commit it to your songtrack and then proceed to riff 3.

Not sure if I overlooked your OP or maybe you have a followup.

On PC.. Any drive that disappears on startup, and then shows up on a different startup… back and forth. I stop using it immediately. It will go away forever soon. If it’s a mission critical HD, wait until the replacement shows up before putting anymore use on it and then recover your info if needed.

If anything is irreplaceable on that drive, stop now. Literally unplug it. Grab a screwdriver if you have to, open the PC, and detach the power cable.

You can’t import a cowbell from an EZX to another EZX that does not ALSO have a cowbell slot.

There is a cowbell under the One-Shot (claps) instrument you can use in all EZXs.

Yes you can import One Shot audio files..

Here’s a free video. A Course that goes into every detail as well.

FL Studio is unique and you may want to ask an FL Studio community this question. Toontrack is popular enough that someone at an FL Facebook community would have the sure shot answer if you’re patient for the right person to respond. FL users usually being beat makers, most of them do not use Toontrack software for all of the features it has to offer. They just drag a beat out and work with that, as most EDM/HipHop style producers do, using the FL studio tools instead.

Myself, coming from many other typical DAWs, I came up with a workflow that is sensible to me in FL. I can’t tell you if it’s the best way or not.

Settings>Keyboard Shortcuts. If it’s there you can customize it.

Most editors prefer that after you hit stop, it goes back to the position you originally hit play from because most people are working on a section of a song and want to repeat it at will. This is all assuming I understand what you’re saying.

If you want pause instead, it is available though I never tested it myself.

If CC data on the hihat exists, it doesn’t matter what you do. I refer you to my last post. Mapping doesn’t matter at this point. If I’m missing something, hopefully someone else will chime in.

If this was tracked by an ekit you’re in the wrong spot. Go lower in the Grid Editor where it says Velocity, change that to hihat pedal controls and get ready for a learning curve.

OR (first back up your work)

delete the hihat pedal data to get back control of using articulations in the Grid Editor.

    Best of luck!

You will be prompted on installation. Keep a sharp eye out if it’s Superior Drummer 3. The plugins go on your C-drive and the Sounds go on your second drive. Otherwise with the other products, you install the Libraries separately. The first library you install will dictate where future libraries are installed.

If it’s been a while, use the free Product Manager.

If you select the entire song in the Song Track, then select that HiHat’s Articulation lane, you would move the entire song of HiHat in one stroke. Be done in a few seconds if your problem is that straight forward. Otherwise might take a few minutes.

I get the lack of convenience is frustrating. There’s no fix if you want variety though. I can only assume Addictive has the same channel layout in this case. No offense at all to that software.

One thing to note just incase you didn’t know. When you get a setup you love, you can set as default project. Or your User Presets remember your routing.

You can’t blast through presets routed, but at least you can save your routing when you find a good setup.

It’s theory in this case. Example.

If you have a measure of 4/4, and half way through that measure you want 7/8… your first measure can not be 4/4 any more.

4/4 is four beats. If I wanted to change to 7/8 half way through a 4/4 measure, you’re not actually playing 4/4, You’re playing 2/4 and then 7/8.

(rephrased. if you place a time signature change half way through a 4/4 measure, you’ve cut two beats out, that measure is now 2/4, you must assign that measure 2/4 before moving forward)

This is why it’s not letting you place a time signature wherever you want. The previous time signature has to resolve before adding a new one, OR you need to correct it.

If you want to change time signatures mid-measure, you must do the math and figure out ‘also’ what the time signature of the previous should be.

I don’t teach theory, this is the best I can ramble it out in a few minutes. Hope that helps.

I assume the main reason is there are different mixer configurations with every preset.

If your Ekit has a Midi-Out via USB. You can do it with a reasonably powered computer, EZdrummer 3, and a DAW. Not only EZDrummer.

I totally get your last paragraph.

There’s tools that get you half way, but you still have to work at it.

If EZBass 2 has Bandmate that works like EZdrummer’s does, you’ll have a knob to match transients.  We shall see.

Maybe solo up EZdrummer’s kick and feed it to EZBass’s audio sender. Still labor intensive, but maybe less.
