That’s why I also bought EZX Metal! Cause I like to pitch tune each kick drum differently. I like some aspects of Made of Metal, but I find the lack of 2 kicks to be a pain. With a double kick setup, you could even use two different kick brands to really shake things up. Heavy Metal=2 kick drums!
What EZX did ya end up going with??……I know I couldn’t wait this long to choose. If it were me, I would have went with the METAL! EZX pack, which I own. Some of the cymbals aren’t that great on it, like the high hat. On one hand……..you can’t really go wrong with any Toontracks metal EZX. Unfortunately, as sweet as they are, none are perfect, what in this world is? Except for Maiden music 🙂 You may have to do what I did and got Metal Machine, Metal!, and Made of Metal. The strong points on each are: MM=snares, M!=kicks, MoM=cymbals, and I really like the toms on the default DW kit that comes standard with EZD2. I make my own Frankenstein kits using pieces from all these…..and give them fun names like “House of Frankenstein”. Hey, good luck bro!
Yeah, ok……but I would still love a velocity knob on the snare………the old EZDrummer had a general velocity knob for the whole kit. Instrument settings, and EZDrummer 2 mixer settings can still be controlled when you export and play the clip in the DAW, so why wouldn’t a velocity knob work?
I have all 64-bit software, and have already checked all. Say whatever you want, but standalone sounds wayyy better than when it’s open in the DAW.
Toontrack, the DAW I’m using is Mixcraft Pro Studio 7. Not sure I know how to do the ZIP tip. Also, I would like to add, that I use Multichannel so in my DAW I can adjust each drum like the mixer in EZD2, and I have the option to add FX to each of these, however, if I add FX to just the snare channel, it seems to effect the entire drum kit.
I guess this comment/question is only partly related to this topic. How come when I tweak a user kit of my own in STANDALONE, the drums sound loud, robust and rich, and I save the user preset. Then when I later open EZD2 within my DAW and find and load my new custom kit, testing the drums, or playing a groove from the library, the drums sound a lot different, and not as amazing, as they did before?? Please and thank you Toontrack!
