Thanks for the clarification. It’s a Macbook Pro 2017 running on power supply.

Is there a thing such as an “Admin mode” in MacOS? From time to time MacOS asks for my system password for system changes. However, I have no problems saving stuff on the system drive. How could I activate this “Admin Mode”?

With my previous interfaces like an ZOOM UAC-2 I had no problems like this.

    Hi!

I just upgraded my interface to the RME Babyface Pro FS with the latest FW and Drivers. I hook my Roland TD-27 to it via a Midi cable, the Babyface is connected via USB C to my MacBook 2017 which runs the latest SD 3.

Under the Midi Devices, there is a ticked off check box with no device name next to it. When I check the box, everything is working fine. But when I restart the whole setup, the box is empty again. This is a bit of a nuisance.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers!

Where are you setting the ‘MIDI Devices’? In SD3? In the Mac world you initially configure MIDI through the Audio/MIDI Setup utility in MacOS. There’s also MIDI setting in SD3 especially if you’re using SD3 standalone. And make sure that your ekit is powered on before starting the computer. MacOS sometimes doesn’t recognize things when powering on stuff after the computer has started.

I set the MIDI devices in the SD3 standalone settings.

I just looked up the MacOS-MIDI-Settings. The Babyface just shows up as USB-MIDI Interface. Renaming does not change anything in SD3, the entry there is still blank with a blank check box after a restart. And I alway switch the TD-27 on first.

Thanks for the further explanation. What you should/will see in SD3 is the actual MIDI device which should be the TD27 brain. Do you have the proper device driver for the Babyface installed on your computer?

    Thank you.

I have the latest Babyface Pro FS drivers installed on my Macbook. Just to clarify: When I check the empty check box in SD3 everthing works fine – it’s just that I have to check it again after every restart.

Saving to default does not help. But thanks!

Connecting directly would require a breakout box which I do not want. But thanks for the idea!

Thank you! It works, indeed. Alas, the quick view only shows products, not forum entries…

I will try that. Yesterday, in the standalone version, I got, of course, no missing triggers. I haven’t used these version with a DAW, but I’ll give it a try anyway. It could take a while though to “force” this bug to show itself again.

Thanks for the help! This had really bugged me. On the MIDI settings page, the sidestick sound is shown, but I I cannot assign a MIDI note to it – and thus not change the velocity.

I couldn’t find the threat, sorry. But I’ve just got the answer: In the TD-12, the CC Max has to be increased to 127 (from the factory setting 90). Thanks anyway!Kiss

Well, I can now report that the TD-12 itself does support brush swirls and taps simultaneously – but SD obviously doesn’t.

I’ve reset both module and SD and the problem is gone. However, I think it would be great if one could delete midi notes.

    Yes.
