I am only asking for more information.

My download experience was provided to illustrate my belief that whatever is causing download issues for some customers
may not entirely be a Toontrack server or network issue.

Looking back at your 1st image posted, I see Logic running in the background while attempting the SS installation.
Can you please close EZDrummer, Logic and any other apps that have any connection to an EZDrummer app or plugin
and then try updating EZDrummer2 and installing the SS expansion.

regarding the Southern Soul expansion, I just downloaded it. Took approx. 6 minutes. 2.9 GB
in south central Pennsylvania, Amish Country, near TMI, HersheyPark….

Opinions vary. If you have EZDrummer2, you can preview every groove available in the Toontrack WebShop.
I happen to think they are quality grooves, very suited to their specific styles, and infinitely customizable.

I’m running EZdrummer 2.1.1 with Southern Soul on my MBP with OS 10.8.5

Truth be told, it may be 4 songs, but they contain a total of 101 unique, individual grooves.

To compare it to other recent Toontrack EZX releases:
EZX Reggae – 56
EZX Hip Hop! – 118
EZX Southern Soul – 166

I also always suggest connecting to your router with an ethernet cable rather than a wi-fi connection;
wi-fi can be glitchy and produce a corrupted download.

what processor?
how much RAM?
how many audio tracks?
how many MIDI tracks?

Have you defined keys for ALL of the articulations for each kit piece in your user-defined drum map?

with regards to “to be(ing) able to use my user-defined drum map AND have the MIDI from Toontrack’s drum packs be triggered properly by my map”,
I would think that one way to accomplish this is to add your custom drum mapping to the standard Toontrack drum mapping.
Obviously, any overlaps between the two mappings will be tricky.

PS. as you have admitted to being computer illiterate,
please know that you should always try to UNINSTALL programs that you no longer wish to use,
either using the publisher’s provided uninstall program or Window’s Control Panel.
Never simply delete a program. It’s almost never that easy.

The more information you include, the more likely the answer you will receive will be pertinent and to the point.

was your original EZDrummer1 purchase registered to a different login or Toontrack account?

Perhaps you could clarify exactly what or why you are unable to download updated installers and patches from your account.
I only ask because I still have a full EZD1 download available under my account; version 1.40 ( MAC: 546MB, PC: 522MB) and multiple updates.

I don’t have Cubase but a quick Google Search led me to the use of Macros in Cubase that could be a potential solution for you.

Other macro tools like Quickeys & Keyboard Maestro can supplement the Cubase macro utility or be useful to users of other DAWs.
