Sounds like the ability to send the Click/Metronome to an output apart from the kit in Standalone mode could be welcome option as well.

How about some specifics?
What version of Pro Tools are you using? what is the BPM set to in Pro Tools?
is it a constant BPM or are there tempo changes?

What groove(s) are you dragging in from EZDrummer2? what is its BPM in EZDrummer2?

There are various methods by which to transfer or share files between multiple computers.
Any method that you choose can (and should) be part of a periodic backup strategy too.
1) Cloud Storage services such as iCloud, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Carbonite, CrashPlan, etc
2) External Storage Media such USB Flash Drives, Network-Attached Storage drives, Files Servers, etc.
3) email the files to yourself (size permitting)
4) USB Transfer Cable to directly connect the two computers
5) share the files between computers on your home network (WiFi or wired), AirDrop
6) Bluetooth file transfter

Library Settings from the [Settings] dropdown menu:

The Libraries Settings Tab is where you can alter, and set the installation path
to your various installed Superior Drummer Sound Libraries (SDX’s).

Browse for Library Paths: This allows you to set the path to an installed Superior Drummer Sound library (SDX) in Superior Drummer 3,
so that it appears in the Library Selection menu.
This should NOT be used for setting paths to EZX libraries (EZdrummer Sound Libraries).
Simply click this button and navigate to the SL-(library name) folder.

This option should only be used if you are attempting to link a previous existing installation
of a Superior Drummer Sound library (SDX) to Superior Drummer 3 so that it appears in the library selection menu.

Because you have purchased the Superior Drummer 3 hard drive option (where the sound library is pre installed on a hard drive),
you would connect the hard drive containing the sound library(s), launch Superior Drummer,
and use the Browse for Library Path feature to link the sound library to the Superior Drummer 3 software.

An important note: If you are installing Superior Drummer 3 on a computer that contains EZdrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 2,
there are no actions necessary for these existing sound libraries to appear in Superior Drummer 3.
They will automatically appear as available libraries in the Library selection menu.

As the MIDI grooves are generally performed & recorded by different drummers,
I’m guessing that the defining character, tone, or sound differences between two grooves played back on the same kit
would have to be the velocity of the MIDI events that create those grooves.

Realizing the many samples of each kit piece that are available for software to choose from at each velocity layer,
the explicit tonal variations could be mind-numbing.

Perhaps it’s not clear but the (optional) 256 GB solid-state drive (SSD) with USB 3.0 connector is an external drive.

The full 230GB George Massenberg SD3 library is set up for download in 5 segments
and a series of progressively larger installation options with progressively more microphones, bleed, etc.

PS. Regarding SDXC cards, you’d need a 256GB card and a card reader that supports it.
Unless you can configure multiple cards into a RAID across multiple card readers as mentioned above.

Despite your clarifications, I’m not sure what problem you having or what question you are asking…
The SD3 MIDI download should be available in the Toontrack Product Manager.
Sorry that I can’t tell you exactly where….I am not currently at the studio in front of that computer.

SuperiorDrummer3 can be utilized with no samples; i.e. an empty kit.
To what end you hope to achieve, relative to the MIDI, I’m not sure that I understand.
If you aren’t interested in SD3 or EZD samples, are you triggering another virtual instrument with EZD or SD3?

and I’m also not sure to what detail you are referring that may be overlooked by other people.

Sure.
While there may be some ToonTrack-specific elements in any groove,
the MIDI is generally mapped to conform to most virtual drum instruments.

Sounds like you have a buffering issue…
How does your situation compare to the product’s recommended environment specs?
Can you please provide further details about your hardware, operating system, RAM, hard drive size, speed, and free space?
