    Sounds great!

only worry: how to make it so that the recording in the daw starts exaxtly at the same time as the standalone version?

i know what i could do is bounce the project with a click track and play that as mp3 and record to that in the standalone and later import that in the daw. Its just such a hassle..

    Sorry for the confusion.

I am only suggesting that your performance is recorded in the plugin or DAW, not in the standalone.
I’m suggesting that the standalone is only used for monitoring with little-to-no latency.

Hi there scott, thanks for the reply,

interesting thought, what would the benefit be of running both simultaneously?

You’ve both said that the standalone runs better than the plugin, with little-to-no latency.

If you play & monitor your performance through the standalone (with little-to-no latency)
you should be able to record your performance at the same time via the plugin in your DAW,
which is the goal, I assume. The recording should playback with no issues.

Have either of you tried running the standalone & the plugin simultaneously,
    monitoring only the standalone?

Hi,   I just bought SD3   And then bought...

    Hi,

    I just bought SD3

    And then bought 6 SDX

I was expecting them all to ping into my email… it seems 5 of them [split between two stores] were actually boxed versions

    I was not expecting that

So they get sent to me… then I’m meant to have a DVD drive to download them [?]

It feels a little backwards – the boxed versions are the same as the download versions aren’t they [?] I’m not getting some old version pre various updates and have to pay more to upgrade [?]

Anyway – I was just a little taken aback… I’m not used to having software posted to me

    Thanks

    Operating system: Windows 10

From where did you buy them?
Were no serial numbers provided on your receipt?

    They are not the same.
The Progressive Foundry is “63 GB OF RAW POWER“.
The Progressive EZX is roughly 3.5 GB.

For other differences, please refer to their respective product pages:
    https://www.toontrack.com/product/progressive-ezx/
    https://www.toontrack.com/product/the-progressive-foundry-sdx/

If you purchase SD3, all of your installed EZX expansions will work there, too.

AFAIK or as far as I can remember,
the Computer ID was simply a nickname that you made up & provided (pre-Product Manager)
to help you to identify on which computer(s) you had product(s) authorized,
in the event that you were using products on more than one computer.

Not exactly like that. The Computer ID is an auto generated identification number that toontrack uses to identify the computer. If you use Product Manager, you won’t have to fiddle with these things – just install and press the authorize button, and go create some music 🙂

My bad.  Like I said, it’s been quite a while since I’d authorized via the website.

My memory ain’t what it once was…

Have you purchased the add-on to Studio One Artist to run third party VST plug ins?

Reply To: Studio one 4.5 doesn’t show superior drummer 3 version: 3.1.4

*3rd Party VST, AU, and ReWire support is NOT included in Studio One Artist.

I believe that you’ll want to check into “SD3 Project Files” to save settings independent of your Cubase sessions.

If you have built a complete drum track,
for example by dragging grooves from the Song Creator columns to the Song Track,
you can save its structure as a User Song Structure in the Song Creator menu.
(Note that no MIDI is saved by this function, only the order and lengths of the song elements.)
The structure can then be used with any Source MIDI file to create new songs.

User-saved Song Structures can be loaded, renamed, or removed by right clicking them.

PS. I excerpted this straight from the SD3 Operation Manual, Section 7.5. Lots of good info there.

SD3 channels 1/2 output to the Pro Tools track the plug-in is inserted on.

I haven’t reviewed this video in a while but I can’t imagine that the process in Pro Tools has changed significantly.

I don’t have any experience with Bitwig Studio,
but if you don’t have any MIDI in the SD3 Song Track
or in the DAW’s MIDI track hosting SD3,
there must be a MIDI track somewhere in your session that is sending MIDI to SD3.

SD3 is receiving MIDI instructions from somewhere…
There is no ‘Default Groove’ in SD3.

    This worked for me:

GROOVE PARTS [ from Section 4.4 of the SD3 Operation Manual ]

“The Groove Parts Button located to the right of the results area allows the user
to access MIDI for the individual drums used in the selected groove.
Groove Parts can be dragged over existing grooves on the timeline to add this “Groove Part MIDI”
to the existing Groove. This would allow you to for example use the Hi-Hat pattern from
one Groove with a kick pattern from another. The possibilities are endless.”
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Alternately, I have successfully ‘copied & pasted‘ selected parts from one groove atop another using the options on the right-click context menus.

As a registered owner of SD3, I can add the SSD to My Cart.

BUT if I log out and attempt to purchase the SSD as a new customer, it will not allow me to add it to my cart.

It would not allow me to add the SSD to my cart, UNTIL I added SD3 to my cart 1st, at which time it offered to allow me to add the SSD as an optional purchase.
