Try whether this sample auditioning option might be what you’re seeking:

    oops! sorry. that’s EZD3 function

I don’t use Reason but looking at the Reason Support page,
it states, “the stand-alone version of Reason 11/12 only supports VST2 plugins”.

    EZDrummer3 is VST3, AU & AAX.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS.
18 GB free disk space (plus 18 GB for download).
64-bit Windows 7 or newer, 4 GB RAM (8 GB RAM or more recommended).
macOS 10.10 or higher, Intel or Apple silicon processor, 4 GB RAM (8 GB RAM or more recommended).
A 64-bit host (with support for VST 3, AU or AAX). Standalone is included.

Is this a new computer onto which you’re installing EZDrummer3?
If not, and unless you’ve uninstalled prior EZX expansions,
you shouldn’t have to reinstall your EZX libraries or their MIDI.

    please elaborate…

I’m betting that the issue is your “ARM-based processor”.
The EZDrummer3 requires a “Intel or Apple silicon processor” (as stated in the System Requirements at the bottom of its product page).

Your Samsung Galaxy Book Go 5G contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G processor
and likely requires program code written and compiled for this particular platform.

The EZDrummer3 base product includes 7 drum kits recorded in 3 rooms.
The product page makes no mention of including electronic drums.
In fact, the Comparison page explicitly notes that electronic drums ARE NOT included with EZDrummer3.

Regarding the EDM GROOVES product… I believe the product to which you are referring is a DRUM MIDI pack.
DRUM MIDI packs contain NO drum samples; acoustic or electronic.

It’s important to remember that MIDI isn’t audio; it’s data. MIDI creates no sounds; it’s a computer language that triggers sounds. It’s like the piano roll in a player piano — the piano roll itself doesn’t create sound. It only triggers notes on the piano, which, like a tone generator, plays the actual sounds.

For a good primer on MIDI, check out this article at Sweetwater.

If you want electronic drum sounds, you should explore Toontracks’ EZX sound library expansion sets.

The EDM Grooves MIDI pack was created with some of our less acoustic-sounding products, such as the Dance EZX, Electronic Edge EZX and Dream Pop EZX, in mind. Although it utilizes many of the special articulations specifically found in some of these titles, with some minor tweaking it works with any EZX or SDX – which of course is the beauty of MIDI.

You can record the MIDI from the Logic track into EZDrummer’s Song Track
using its [Record] function on EZDrummer3’s Transport Bar.

The Alesis module is not useless if that is the means by which you are triggering EZDrummer3.

The question is whether or not you can decrease the module’s drum sounds in the speaker output of the module
without also decreasing the USB MIDI trigger output to EZDrummer3.
If you can do this, you can connect the headphone output of your laptop to the AUX IN of the Alesis module
enabling the output of EZDrummer3 thru the Alesis out to the speaker or the Alesis headphone output.

If you can’t decrease the module’s drum sounds in the speaker output of the module
without also decreasing the USB MIDI trigger output to EZDrummer3, you will need to connect your speakers
to your laptop via a soundcard or audio interface.

It is not recommended that you connect your laptop’s headphone output directly to your speakers.

I own modern and vintage but the extras are greyed out.

Are they not part of the set?

    How do I purchase.

    Thanks…

By the way, has the $79 upgrade ED2->ED3 window closed ?

The $20 discount on the $99 EZD2>EZD3 upgrade was available until EZD3’s May 3rd release date.

My initial response to a question like that is almost always,
“Give it a try. See what happens…”.

My 2nd response is that I would typically break the audio into different sections (pre-Chorus, Bridge, Verse etc)
and feed them into the algorithm individually, one-at-a-time.

You may have to shift your 49-key controller to ‘play’ a lower octave (or two)
to reflect the appropriate range of triggers listed in the pdf.

Toontrack really need to have en un-quantize / restore performance function to SELECTED parts to make the recording-software useful. This way you can quantize parts of a performance and have ghostnotes etc unaffected and do its thing. There is no way quantizing an entire track will ever work which make us record drums outside the toontrack software. However.. I find the rest of the software really useful so I would love to see a Restore Performance function which can undo any quantizing I´v done to a track and restore the original performance on the selected notes. Hope Toontrack can chip in and give a response 🙂

What I do and of course YMMV, after I have recorded/tracked in EZD or SD3, I go through the track with the scissor tool and create sections. Then highlight the sections I want to quantize and leave the ones I don’t, as is.

Additionally, I try real hard to remember to backup a performance BEFORE doing any editing.
