Hi Mark, thank you for your time. It generates midi and I am able to go two routes, but not both.

Let me explain. I can choose between a classic cymbal choke when I activate Choke/Mute Trigger to Aftertouch. Then I get the short choke with the corresponing sample and the fast stop when i grab the edge on my CY 18 DR. Unfortunately it chokes the same way when i slightly touch the bow. I can then deactivate the Aftetouch for Choke/Mute Trigger and activate Aftertouch for the Realease of all the Articulatoions of the cymbal and I get the soft choke, or better call it dampening. BUT, then I loose the classic choke as Superior Drummer says Aftertouch can only be used for one event. In the TD 27 it works that grabbing the edge hard causes a fast choke and slightly touching the bow leads to a smooth dampening. It should be the same on your TD 50x. My aim is to reach this beahviour inside Superior Drummer. Reading out the midi data tells, that the difference is the value of the Aftertouch. At the edge it’s 64 right from the begonning, at the bow its a raising lower level…As higher the level gets the more it damps the cymbal. I’ve tested it by recording a bow tip and then touched the cymbal in the 2 different ways. Then I played the midi and sended it to the TD 27 et voilá: the modul did it correct and played one hard choke and one soft dampening. Here’s a video of a user who did what I am looking for, but I cant get in contact with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_jx2es4F2U

Therefore I look for someone here, who knows, how this was done. Hope you can follow and help.

    Hi,

i join your post as i am struggling with the cymbal dampening and choke adjustment in Superior Drummer 3. With my C 18DR in the TD 27 i get a smooth dampening when i touch the bow soft and get a cymbal choke when i grab it harder, like in real world. Is there any chance to transmit this behaviour in Superior Drummer 3?

    This would be awesome 😉

    all the best, Sebastian
