Hi Rogue,
Thank you very much.
I do have the latest version of the Windows Installer (4.5).
I will read through the KB article and post back if I found a solution to this.

Thanks, Rogue.
Yes, I am 100% positive that I unzipped the folder first.
I’m running WinXPpro32bit with Service Pack3.
I have the version 1.2.3 of the Cocktail EZX.
Doesn’t the error message I get when trying to install version 1.2.4 indicate that there is something wrong with my OS? Or could it be the Cocktail installer itself that has a bug?
What do you suggest shouls I do?
Thanks,
Lars

I re-installed the previous update of EZX Cocktail without any problems, but again the update 124 still gives me the same error message.
I also donwloded the Windows Installer update. But that did not change anything either.
Do I need to uninstall and re-install EZdrummer after updatign the Windows Installer?
If yes, does that mean I need another avtivation code, or can I still use the present activation code?
And will it keep all my MIDI files that I added myself?
Thanks,
Lars

Were you able t solve this issue?
If yes, what did the trick?
I have the same problme with installing the Cocktail EZX update, and I am not willing to re-install my OS just because of this, so any other solution would be great!

Thank you, John.
I will check out the thread you posted a link to.
The strange thing is, though, I only got this error message when I tried to install the EZX cocktail update, all other updates (Superior, EZPlayer, etc.) went fine, nor did I ever get this error message when installing anything else.
Could it still be a Windows Installer issue in this case?
Thanks,
Lars

Hi man … i liked your stuff … realy lively sounding …
how much guitar tracks have you recorded ?? anyway, your riffs are realy cool
as you stated out yourself … the cymbals are a little too loud and maybe the bassdrum could need compression and/or limiter … but you are definitly on the right track
Greatz M
Hey, Vielen Dank !
I appreciate your kind words!
It’s 4 guitar tracks, basically 2 differnet guitar parts (for most of the riffs) each doubled, I think my playing is not tight enough yet in some parts, though.
I re-recorded everything last ngiht and tried to finish the arrangement/order of the riffs into a tune. When I have that mixed, I will post an update!
Thnaks gain for listening and your comments.

Wow, man, this is awesome ! Great stuff !!!!
I like everything: great riffs, great leads, great sound and great playing!!!!
And YES, Deutschland 3rd place !!!They did very well in the tournament. The final game (Netherlands-Spain) was rather disappointing, and the referee was such a moron……

Hi, cool tricky song! i really like the place where the slow synthy comes in.
i prefer a drum sound with a bit more drums und a little less cymballs.
especially the bass drums could be more present.
Thank you very much , I appreciate your kind words!
I think maybe in my mix the cymbals are too loud, especially the hi-hat.

Thank you very much Rogue and JymFeet, I appreciate your help!
I think I missed that point of input format.

Thank you very much, Jeremy. I appreciate everything you said very much !
That is cool idea with the drums, I might try that
I have no plans of adding vocals, but I definitely want to add some lead guitar. I’m thinking of the last part with the pads to be a part for a guitar solo maybe.
Thanks again!

Hi Rogue,
Thank you.
The problem was that even after using the translation mapping of EZPlayer some hits were still wrong (like a snare rimshot would become a rimclick, or some cymbal would turn into a tom or something like that), but I guess that is normal? or maybe I did something wrong.
Anyway I already reprogrammed everything in EZDrummer DFH, but I still uploaded a MIDI (created while using AD) and an AD-rendered file (very low quality and mono so it would be less than 200KB for the upload) for you to check.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
raw drum sounds are better/easier to use when learning how the different types of processors work.
OK !
Thank you very much, John!

Is it for using further processing in Cubase (suach as EQing and additional compression)?
In short, yes, but also if you have the need for e.g. automation of microphone levels.
Thank you, John!
Is it a good way of learning to process drums to do this with EZDrummer (pre-processed) sounds, or should I rather try to leanr mixing and processing drum right away on a ‘raw’ kit like DFH Superior 1 or Superior Drummer 2?

Sorry, no intention to hi-jack this thread, but I have a question regarding using the multi-out feature:
What would be the advantage ofu sing this feature? Is it for using further processing in Cubase (suach as EQing and additional compression)?
That would be the only thing I could think of right now that would make use of multi-outs.
But since the EZDrummer sounds are already processed, would it still add to a better sound to EQ or compress them more?
I’m still a noob with regard to drum mixing, so this is a very interesting topic for me, since I want to learn about it.
Thanks,
Lars

ah, just look up the keyboard layout for the drumkit from hell EZX and check whether the midi notes match…
OK !
Once again, thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it!
I also have SD2.0 and DFHS as well as Addictive Drums, but now I realized that mixing drums myself (as I tried to in SD2.0 and AD) is not really what I want to be doing in thep rocess of writing a song, so for that it’s easier to use the pre-processed sounds of EZDrummer and the expansions.
