I have recently received a bunch of advertisements for sd3 on social media. It leads me to believe that maybe it’s their last push on the product before SD4 is released. Just a tin foil hat theory.

For the D&D SDX it is just noted in the product page on the Toontrack website. My guess is that the same thing is happening for Metal foundry but perhaps wasn’t put in the product details (they are way more elaborate with the more recent releases). Alternatively there are just subtle differences between two seemingly identical kit pieces (e.g slight deviations in tuning, mic placement and performance of the left and right feet during sample taking). This is all speculation …

In the death and darkness SDX the left and right kicks are identical but the tuning is lightly lower in one of the kicks. This is by design and gives subtle separation in double kick parts. I would assume something similar is going on with metal foundry?

There’s a similar problem with the GGD midi. That company actively suggests not using the hardest velocities when programming parts but their midi packs are full to the brim of 127 hits.

There is button to flip the phase in SD3. I believe you can do it on the channel strip and on the instrument bleed

Has anyone else had any experience with it?

Dude just accept that people have different preferences to other workflows. You and another member of this forum make it unappealing to post here because of how you interact with questions, suggestions or viewpoints. I’d rather leave at that and stop with the replies. Peace out hombre ✌️

Use what all the time? What are you on about? He mentioned a feature that isn’t on SD3, I watched your video link and I agree that I would like that. It looks to be a quality of life feature over dragging and dropping

This looks to be a feature I would enjoy also. Ignore the other guy, he just seems to instigate devil’s advocate wherever possible on this forum.

I feel it should be included within an update but I think they will hold off until they release SD4. It’s a strange business model to have feature available on the lower tier product that isn’t on the flagship, so fingers crossed it comes soon.
