  • Ok so its fixed now on my 8.1 computer. On a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro (8.1Pro has different Admin settings initially) the Administrator account is disabled. It can be unlocked in computer management tool. Go into users and right-click Administrator account and choose Properties, then uncheck the box to enable the admin account and you are done. The Administrator account is now available to switch to at your Start Screen. Download from the account and it will enable you to finish the install with no problems or you can go to your C:/users folder to install from your user download folder. Make sure to run the application as administrator or it will crash on startup. I hope this helps anyone who’s done a clean install on a Desktop as apposed to the Surface Pro which will install perfectly.

im gonna try the extraction to a different file when i get home. when the install is done, it opens the file automatically and it makes it seem like its extracted already. can you guys include an auto extract in the installer or is that not possible? can you recomend a good file location to extract to for a smoother install? A timely install makes for a a better experience with the product. Im sure most of your costomers are Mac people anyway but the new surface tablets can handle even the most taxing applications now and that market is growing. Its a good chance for you audio programmers to pounce on this new market. i use the stylus to mix my projects and it makes it easyer. Plus, i know some folks who are switching over from pads to tablets for that same reason. thanks for the help so far. i love your products

yes i have lifted restrictions. im thinking a regedit is the only way to bypass the UAC on this one.

I just now found a problem with the install on my Windows 7 laptop. It wont install due to a data error:

Error 1311. source file not found:
C:Users”name”AppDataLocalTempTemp1_TT206_EZdrummer2_WIN_200.zipEZdrummer2_WINInstallDATA.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Im thinking that Toontrack forgot to include a data file hmmmmmm…………

I have. the funny thing is that i also downloaded the update to EZ2 and the installer app from the extracted folder ran just fine – it just wont finish its install because the mother program is not installed yet wich brings me back to square 1. this is a new one on me and believe me, im experienced in a lot of recording/midi software. I already verified with windows that EZ2 is not on their compatibility list with 8/8.1 yet but that just means i have to run with compatibility mode for win 7. i cant understand why it wouldnt show the installer in the list of programs to run. im thinking ist just a bad file that needs a good tweek before its downloadible. i may be one of the very few that uses a PC for this software anyway.

I also want to mention that I tried to run it in compatibility mode but it doesn’t seem to find the install app in the list

that’s just it, my account IS the administrator.
