    thanks scott,

    i found it at:
    c>prog files>vst plug ins>toontrack>64 bit
(the same place as in your comp. that’s probably the default location at least for vista/windows 7)

i was then able to add it to the vst folder scan, then open and authorize it.
it seems to be working right now.
let me apologize again for getting irritable. that was becoming a lengthy process due to my unfamiliarity with it.

    thanks again for your help.
    rock on,
    matt

it appears that i can’t open a .dll file without a certain program to do it.

there is not a default location that vst goes to?

how else can i find it?
    thanks.

thanks i also found both of those, i just let the computer set the folder destination. i didn’t change anything. what is the default location for the folder to get installed to? i will add it to the scan if i can find it.
    thanks.

i looked for it at this destination:
    c:/programs/cakewalk/vstplugins

but there was no toontrack content there.

both the 32 and 64 bit updates were installed as instructed.
i do not know how to set the path to ez drummer x64 from within sonar.
i cannot find ez drummer to even open it, so i can’t look at the gui.
i re-scanned the vsti’s from the plugin mngr and still can’t see it.

    thanks

    sonar x1 producer x64

i apologize for my comment about the ez drummer installation, but i’ve been trying to get this up and running for about 8 hrs. i’m beginning to lose some patience.

    sorry/thanks,
    matt

so far this has been an extremely confusing and complicated installation. few things if any have gone smoothly and i still can’t find ez drummer inside my daw.

i really hope using ez drummer is a lot easier than downloading and installing it.

i “extracted all” and then opened the installshield wizard last night and received that error while the files were being copied. however, i just tried the same that didn’t work last night, and it went though without an error this time. i also installed the ezx cocktail without any problems. should i now download/install the update?

thanks, why would there be a request for it and a field to type it in if i hadn’t even installed it yet?

i’m trying to install it now and i’m getting this error:

    error 1309.error reading from file:
    c:users”name”appdatalocaltemptemp1.tt106 ez drummer-win.ziptt106wintt106 ezdinstallprogram filestoontrackezdrummer…ez core.pdf.

    what does this mean?
    thanks
