Follow up… I bought the Death and Darkness expansion pack. The Death kits have double kicks by default. I’ve continued to alternate my midi hits on kick blasts such as 35/36. It sounds pretty good to my ear, but again it’s hard to tell much difference between that and just using a single kick. So at this point, I think a single kick with randomize/adjacent/alternate clicked is probably about as good, but I’ll continue keeping mine separate now just in case I decide to detune one or otherwise process them separately in the future.
Following, as I too would love to see a way to do this (I’m also using Reaper). Is there a way to export a text file from SD3? Reaper stash website has some uploads of SD kit notes, but I’m using some of the SDX expansions which have different mappings (and my custom mappings). Seems like there should be a way to do this automatically, but so far I’ve had to manually build a text file to import into reaper.
Thanks for the reply. I tried slight de-tuning by about .1 which seems to help. I will experiment with it. Any other recommendations welcome!
@Bear-Faced Cow, thank you for the reply. When I click on the memory details, it shows Cached is unselected. I assumed that means it’s not cached, but it’s acting like it is – the first few hits are not rendered (and then they start coming in after a few beats… snare, kick, then eventually cymbals, etc). When I go to performance settings, I see Cache Mode is Project Specific (the only other option is Force Cache). I don’t see an option to disable it entirely.
Any input is appreciated!
