Thanks for the replys. I think what ill do is start from scratch, take lots of pictures/screen shots and come back and post them here- maybe that will help identify if there is an obvious problem

Hi John, thanks for the message. I’ve tried this with various different levels on the sliders and it makes no difference.

Also tried the default preset and that doesn’t work either.

It’s more that the sounds aren’t assigned correctly, as the midi and indicators on the sliders are correct based on pedal position.

When I have the hats closed, the tight option on the slider lights up green, but the sound doesn’t change from a semi open sound.

I tried a different kit and different cymbal also and still no joy?

If the midi numbers are being picked up, why is it not sending the correct annotation?

Thanks – yes, have the TD30 preset selected in the edrum tab. I’ve calibrated the VH12 in the module, following this video on youtube – (https://youtu.be/RN0qsbVgUyw?si=6nJRE-ytwfIyRyP-)

“Also are all the td30 out nites standard?” Apologies – not sure what you mean? All of the TD30 settings are standard, Global local control is off, Midi USB on. All other triggers are working perfectly and the MIDI is being monitored correctly in SD3, its just not providing a closed hat sound.

i mean open rather than fully open, but not closed or tightly closed. I can stand on the pedal, trigger 127 in the midi monitor and it still delivers an open sound, even with aggressive settings on the slider in the hihat control on SD3.

My fave so far is Progressive foundry – modern kits and cymbals. It may be marketed at metal – but, its just modern drum sounds that can be used in various genres.

The DW kit sounds incredible and the cymbals are bright and punchy

Thanks, yeah I’ve read a lot of different posts with similar issues and tried the proposed changes, but cant seem to get it working correctly.

Cant understand if the MIDI is being read correctly in SD3, why it isn’t transferring the correct articulation
