This may come as a surprise but being the old fart that I am – with vivid memories of tape when there was no alternative – I am actually very happy to hear that.
Thanks for getting back to me Damian. And thanks for clearing this up. It does seem like HP implies that the drums were recorded (and thusly, one would expect, released) ‘period correct’, i.e. earlier to tape and later to digital, so it is great to know.
I route everything out and mix in Logic with a blend of Soundtoys, SSL Native and Sonnox plugs. I am sure it could all be done ‘in house’ in Sup3 – I’m just used to working this way and also used to the plugs I use and how they react to what I’m feeding them.
