Thank you, we were able to reproduce the problem and we are troubleshooting and discussing this with our programming team.

That is great news thank you. Could you suggest any way that I can get it working for my current mix?

To keep Multi-Out Audio and any other settings you have changed when you restart the standalone you can save the current project as your default project (File > Set Current to Default Project).

Great thanks, yes I sorted this one as I remembered it from previously. As mentioned, I rarely use standalone, it just seemed that it may be connected.

nb. Please do have a look at the video if you can. I would like you to see the kind of testing work I do, as I have applied to test a few times but not had any luck.

    Thanks again,

    P

Attaching video link which shows the issue very clearly (too big for here):

    OK more info. Inside Cubase:

    • The Gospel Library is outputting Sub correctly.
    • The Classic Rock Library is outputting Sub correctly.
    • The Metal Library is outputting Sub correctly.

Although it always defaults to zero.

The issue seems to be with Modern & Vintage only.

Oh dear. I cannot find a way to roll back. Tried downloading the 1.09 installer and removing 1.1 but EZB is still showing 1.1.

I am confirming now that in standalone Use multi-outs keeps deselecting itself once EZB is restarted. I tried running as Admin etc. Just in case. No difference.

I don’t usually use standalone so not sure if this is relevant.

I am now looking to find where the settings are stored.

nb. I think I mentioned before, I do quite a lot of QA testing and tutorials etc. So pretty sure this is not user error. There is something definitely amiss here.

Please update me soon, if you can as I really need to work and all  my mixes use the Sub out.

    Hi again,

No, as mentioned. The first time I discovered this was in Cubase so device driver is not relevant. Here is a screenshot from within Cubase. I hope that is clear.

Sorry the screenshots are large I work in 4K. At least you can see the detail clearly.

If you need a full video please let me know. Although I will be trying rollback in few minutes as have a track to mix.

Hi and thanks for your quick response. I’ll certainly attach any screen shots etc. that may be useful but at the moment I am finding this with every and any patch.

There is no change in sound at all and the Sub output is clearly not outputting anything.

In standalone I am finding that Use multi-outs keeps deselecting itself once EZB is restarted. I may try a complete uninstall of the plugin.

Attaching a quick screen grab that shows standalone using the default patch.

Routed to outputs 1/2 – 3/4 – 5/6 you can clearly see no gain on 5/6 although Sub level is up full.

I will make a small video inside Cubase shortly.

Actually tested Standalone and seems that Sub is not working there either. Very odd, I cant imagine this slipped through QA, so maybe something has changed here.

nb. Yes I do have Multi Outs selected in Settings.

Hi Mattias, thanks for the reply.

Yes definitely on 1.0.9. I am a QA tester (sadly not for Toontrack although I did apply), and a little bit obsessive about updates, I wrote a script that runs all product managers every day to make sure everything is fully up to date before I actually start production work.

Steps to repro are quite simple.

    • Load EZB as an instrument channel in Cubase.
    • Play or draw some MIDI a normal bass line style (single nots long and short) in Cubase MIDI Editor.
    • Add some key switches (for example F#0 for slides) and drag them up and down to try the different key switches. Bear in mind that sometimes you miss the correct key switch (try doing this on purpose).
    • Then try playing the bass notes by clicking on them. (Just imagine doing some normal editing of the notes).

    This should show both issues:

    • 1. With the ringing notes.
    • 2. With the accidental trigger of Slap articulation and not being able to reset to normal.

I know you probably did all this already so I will try to get a very firm repro and post a little explainer video and project soon.

    My settings fyi:

    • Windows 10 (fully up to date)
    • Intel i7 + 64GB RAM
    • All drives are SSDs
    • Cubase 11
    • Asio Guard on High
    • RME FF UCX at 48K 256 Samples
    • Input devices… Quite a few different ones.

    Thanks again. P.

    Sigh.

Did you look at the date of the first post and read the content?

This is not about graphics, it is about the actual sound which differs depending on using an open string for example open A or A fret on E string.

Sigh – OMG Phil why don’t you quit the Toontrack forums and join an Adobe one instead.

Of course – since you’re so worried about the look of your virtual base you have’t listened to the notes to know that sound of an A on the open A string is the same as the on the 5th fret of the E string yet…

On a real bass it is not the same and that was the point. This was not about graphics.

Now kindly stop trolling my posts 🙂

This thread has been discussed ad nauseam before – and since the sounds are all the same – on the open E string or the B string 5th fret there’s no point worrying about which graphic the program chooses to show you which note you’re on.

    Sigh.

    Hey Phil,

Can you PLZ tell me or show me how I can change my skins from my EZD2 drums from black to something else in SD3…if that’s possible??

    Thx, Jeff

We checked that previously, it looks like it is not possible. Only the background can be edited, which many have done. Just look in the installation folder for graphics. 🙂

Ok – not sure why a suggestion how you can scratch your graphic itch was taken so badly but so be it.

Because it doesn’t work like that at all. If you see my video you will see that it was indeed possible to do it this way but the graphics files have been removed and compiled into a single unreadable file.

nb. Your post was rude and conformational and you know it. That is why you attempted to apologise in advance and also ended it with “Grump over”. Pointless and not at all helpful in any way.

“Plug it into photoshop and have at it”?

Absolutely no need for that at all. “Pre apology” or not.

Guitar is my main instrument and has been for the last 50 years btw. So yes I appreciate quite a few of the nuances.

This is not about devs wasting time it is the fact that they have taken it away. I was inquisitive as to why, since it can still be done on the drums.

If you feel so strongly that the interface is not important and should not be customisable, good for you, there is absolutely no need to rant at someone asking a genuine question.

The part of my post you ignored: “It creates an extra layer of interest for some users.” Which it certainly does, as I can warrant by the 1.7K plays on my short video explaining how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1oDU4XPBKo

Anyway, no need to reply further thanks. P.

This will get fixed in the next update. A right click was not enough, you had to drag the mouse too.

Thanks ever so much. Here the drag was not required but maybe related to my mouse settings. Anyway, you have it. Great. 🙂
