Jord, you are confusing two different people with your replies.
    I did that as well.
we can just stop this nonsense.
we all know what we are doing and can troubleshoot the issues.
I would like to ask you to not minimize the issues were are having by declaring its somehow our lack of computer/configuration skills that are the problem. It’s clearly not that.

There seems to be some confusion about who’s replying to who.
This forum is not clear with the wording on the email notifications.

    Ok professor.
The bandwidth is obviously a factor.
However , that is not the issue here.
The same bandwidth in question performed perfectly before the update.

Ive been working with digital audio since the mid 90’s when we need scsi drives terminated and 100 mb drives were a luxury. I know a bad design when I run into it.  My external Tb3 drives are more than fast enough.
As far as my post sounding like I know everything , sorry if I came off as arrogant. I do know quite a bit about digital audio production. I’m sorry if I’m working at a higher level than most users. This is not a hobby for me.
I love SD3 , it is one of the finest pieces of software I’ve ever used.  I wish you would slow down and think about the realities of this issue. I know when I say “bug” it’s hyperbole , that’s on purpose.
The main issue I have with your response is that you are trying to diminish the importance of an issue that has presented itself. The 3 people I work with closely who use SD3, on 3 different rigs, all agree that the splash screen sucks.
You need to trust this is not coming form a place of lazy annoyance.
This is coming from a place of advanced professional audio production knowledge and experience.

Ah, thank you ! I’ve used that box a million times and I never saw the option to switch from number to actual notes. Thanks a lot.

Yes I’m aware of the window.
I’m saying the actual note. Like A# or C.

ok buddy, i get it, your one of those guys. If your looking for debate , im not interested.

I know my system, the update added a splash screen that created a longer lag. Its just that simple. Why do people insist on disagreeing with people simply because they dont have the same issue.

“When you learn the difference between speed and bandwidth, you’ll understand how audio production works” …wtf is that? so not on target and has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Go away from this thread if its not an issue for you.

You seem to be missing the point.
before the splash screen fiasco update the load up was almost instant. After changing NOTHING else , the wait time is 8 seconds. What else could the be creating the issue?

Maybe on perfectly optimized, m1 machines , the software has an issue.

Nope. 7 seconds is almost exactly how long my takes as well.
We seem to have some confusion about what we’re talking about.
I’m using a brand spanking new mac studio where all other operations are extremely fast.

“Drum preset “ can mean several things. Explain your issue with more detail. That may be  why no one is answering.

You may not have selected the preference option to load all sounds at launch. You may have it set to just open and then load samples when they are triggered. Which I may go back to considering this new bug.

its my humble opinion that the last thing we need is more METAL sounds. ITs like a virus, the METAL options are about 80% of all my samles libraries.

What i need is more variations on the basic center snare hits. please. we are all not making mechanical robot music

Ive had this issue with other sample libraries. The workaround is to install the software on any internal larger or external drive that allows the installation, then just move if manually to the drive you want. In apple Monterey with M1 chips there are some issues with drives getting different permissions that are not easy to fix. But find a drive that works then move the samples.

You may have to select the correct path in SD3 after you manually move the files, but it works. It just takes an extra step

Even if the time it used to take to open the plug in is the same ( which IT IS NOT) you are still frozen while you stare at the stupid SPLASH SCREEN. FIX THIS

when the splash screen is done displaying the full sample set is fully loaded. before it would open much faster and the loading would occur. It is not true that it takes the same tim for the splash screen to go away as it used to simply open the windo. This is absolutley not the cse on my system I have a super fast Mac Studio and tones of ram, all setting are optimized. I have been using SD3 for years.. IT IS NOT THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME!
