Yes. Exactly !!! The work flow issues is one that many will never understand.
This IS a flaw ! There is no way to get around the fact that as a heavy SD3 user thinks  IT SUCKS. Its not the biggest issue  in the world. Its not like the software is crashing or playing the wrong files.
The reason it’s become such a big deal is the selfish pushback by some that insist it doesn’t exist. Or it’s a newbie issue. Remember ,that it worked Perfectly!!!!! Moments before the update. Its just plain and simple a crappy design that only effects FAST PROFFESSIONALS.
Ive been down this road many times with various pro tools and other audio “features “ and or bugs.
Some people simply will not understand how bad the design screws up work flow. Its the type of issue that programmers will never understand until they are running a session with 5 instances of SD3 and clients in the room and deadlines. And a mix that is almost done. Its so hard to convince slow deliberate users how important work flow is!!!!
For example. The fact I have to select my operating system and version number for a post in this forum EVERY TIME I log in is a clear lazy bad web forum design. But some will say “it’s fine” doesn’t bother me.

Jord believes that some people are just “bad” people and that’s why the splash screen takes longer on some systems.
Dear lord dude. What is your problem? Are you an adult ?

Damn jord , you really are a disagreeable fellow.
how can anything not be possibly system specific?
No need to reply to that because I don’t care anymore what you think.

Yep. Its a system specific issue. And/or the size of the SD3 window maybe.
mine is huge. Fastest mac studio , super fast tb3 ssd drives, and a decent monitor.
Its a little disappointing because it’s the first time this new mac hasn’t been the best at anything I’ve ran into.
could be pro tools talking to SD3 without the m1 native code that pro tools is STILL not running.  Lots of possibilities.
However , before the splash screen bug , it never wasted my time. Now it does. And it looks cheezy as hell.

So, the delay is only for loading graphics. got that. The fact still remains it covers the screen while you’re looking at a session. When I open SD3 i have it set to a perfct 2/3 of the screen real estate. I like that, its on purpose. I think thats what is really a nuisance to the work flow. Again, some users wont react to this seemingly minor disruption in work flow. Some will. I do.

The visual aspect of work flow is so overlooked. Even the clients have reacted to the spalsh screen, saying “is it frozen?” “whats going on?” “is that new?”. its a pain in the ass .

ITS MUCH BETTER for me to have the visuals do nothing while im waiting for bloated graphics to load.

Perhaps an option for low fi graphics would address all these flaws.

Ok. Listen up. This is clearly a new delay occurring with the splash screen.
When I open a session and start playing the track, the drums all play right a away. When I open the plug to look at it , that’s when the delay occurs. So, the samples are already loaded. They play perfectly well until I click the plug in. That’s when there is a seemingly fake graphics delay. How else can you explain SD3 playing perfectly well until you try and look at the plug in ?

Ahh. Yes, thats it. I never found this cause usually the “slow down” modifier key on a mac is “command”.

It even explains the format its displaying if you hover the cursor over the button and wait for the tip. I wish it incremented in half steps unless you opted to go in between. but thats another complaint.

    Very cool thanks guys!

It seems its faster for some and slower for others.
maybe it’s the amount of kits you have.
i have tons of expansions. Both ezx and sdx.
my computer and drive are as fast as possible.

    Usually it’s command while sliding.
not sure if this works. Still the distance is too small.

There should also be a indication of the change in a window. Like a percentage , or cents field.
This would be very helpful.  When pitching Toms it is very hot and miss as is.

Yes. I just did it last night to tame a ringing Tom when it was needed.
now only if they make the range more manageable. Its like a million of an inch nudge and the envelope changes drastically. Same with the “pitch” sliders in all the samples, way too sensitive.

Yes the subscriptions really suck, but at a certain level that won’t matter.
It will take about 10 years to have the work force talent to work in other software.
I don’t want to get into the DAW wars debate, but ,really, it’s used in about 90% of the professional studios.
They are pricing it so big studios will still pay whatever, but it’s the up and coming engineers that will dictate what is needed. Its a bummer on many levels.

Pro tools software was historically given away with hardware. Not sure what you mean.
its still the pro choice. By far.
