Hi Ben.  You’re looking in ‘My Documents’.  You need to be looking in ‘Documents and Settings’ which is found under the c: drive in ‘Windows Explorer’.  Here’s how you get there: Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer.  Expand the c: drive and there you will find ‘Documents and Settings’.  HTH

Im sorry, im a bit confused, when i go into my documents i have the drum map file, you said in your last post i need to move it, how do i move this from ? (im not to great with computers)   i guess as im not putting this in the right place is why i cant get it as a drump map in Sonar yet. There seem to be tons and tons of drum maps just not the one i want yet lol !

Thankyou again for your help on this

    Ben 🙂

Hi Ben.  It needs to be in the Drum Maps folder under Documents and Settings (in your C: drive).  Windows Explorer > expand the C: drive > Documents and Settings > user (in this case, administrator) > Application Data > Cakewalk > Sonar 7 > Drum Maps.

Just copy the file from wherever it’s located now and paste it in the Drum Maps folder.  Reopen Sonar and EZD and it should be there.  You can also do a search to find the path.  HTH

Hey Ben, looks like you’ve been moved.  Not to worry, it happens sometimes.

Sonar 7 (and I think S6 as well) moved some of the user files including Drum Maps.  They are now at: Documents and Settings > user (in this case, administrator) > Application Data > Cakewalk > Sonar 7 > Drum Maps.  Place the new map files here.

I still had S5 on my machine when I installed S7 so my drum maps are under: Program Files  > Cakewalk > Sonar 5 > drum Maps.  This is where I put mine as this is where my EZD looks for them.

When you open EZDrummer be sure and select the Output Track and Midi Source Track options from the DB.  (I also select the folder option).  Click OK.  Now go to the Midi Source Track and open the output dropdown menu.  Select “New Drum Map” and from the list choose your new map.  Use the Drum Map Manager to verify that EZD is output in the map.  You’re all set!  Please let me know how it goes.

I just followed the link and listened to your music, was this all done in Sonar 7 PE ? it sounds fantastic quaility!

Thank you.  Danny Boy was done in S7.  All the instruments are either VSTi or samples. The others were cut at Quad in Nashville.

Your song Uncle Ray is a great song, very touching.

    Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Just out of interset how do you record your guitars ?  miked up amps or guitar software plugins ?

The electric guitars and the steel were played by Bird Burton.  They were all amped and mic’d.

Hey Ben.  If you’re logged into the updates page there are links on the right side of that page. Click on “Free Downloads” > EZDrummer > Host Stuff > Sonar > Drum Maps.  HTH
