Hi Henrik. Tried a new project, fresh cubase tempo track, and SD3 followed OK. The file with the tempo changes was an imported midi Type 1 file from another music program. Tempo changes came from that ….. Created a new SD3 track, and it runs also out of sync.
We cannot reproduce this here at the office, Superior 3 always follows the DAW tempo correctly if you have “follow host” engaged.
Could you create a simple Cubase project where this is reproducible and post it here so I can take a look at what is going on?
Also what i miss in creating songs in SD3, is an adjustable tempo map, also for bar count changes like an inserted 2/4/bar in a 4/4/ song. Maybe it’s there, but i couldn’t find it … J
At the top left of the song track there is a menu button called “Track” where you can access the tempo and time signature editors by clicking “Edit Tempo…” or “Edit Time Signature…”.

I would suggest going into “Settings->Advanced” and hit “Restore MIDI Database…” and see if it helps. Unless you have moved anything in your MIDI folder the files should be found correctly.
The exclamation mark means the file is not found at it’s normal location (it is missing)
The files listed in your screenshot are part of The Rock Foundry (Walk 139 BPM and Best 131 BPM), you could check if those are still present on disk.
See attached images for reference.

There is something wrong with your installation, you should never get those exclamation marks in the first place.
The MIDI folder should not be altered in any way, we don’t support moving/renaming installed files/folders around so if you are doing anything like that it would be the cause of your problems.
So, my recommendation is to reinstall the MIDI packs (remove any remaining files/folders after uninstalling them) and then run the “Rebuild MIDI database” in “Settings->Advanced”, let the database build itself and then just leave everything alone. If it still doesn’t work you could run the latest Superior3 updater.

Thanked by: Jack 007I have located and fixed the crash, it will be included in a future patch but I cannot give any ETA unfortunately.
Thanks for helping us make Superior better and sorry for the inconvenience!
As a workaround until then you could try adding a couple instruments (“add instrument” on the “Drums” page) and see if it helps with the crash, it looks like you probably had a few added instruments that later has been removed from the project which is a possible cause for the crash.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi,
I have checked your project and there is definitely a bug in Superior 3 in regards to recording aftertouch (poly pressure and most likely channel pressure as well).
If you check the poly pressure curves in your Cubase project you can see that those not recorded all start at 127 and then drops to 0, while those being recorded starts at 0, goes to 127 and then back to 0.
So as a workaround until we have released a fix for this you could add a 0 value just before the 127 one.
Thanks for reporting this bug and sorry for the inconvenience!

Actually, looking back at your original pictures I see that your MIDI folder seems to be very strange, your “Metal Foundry” directory actually contains folders from “EZX Drumkit From Hell Guests” MIDI pack! (Those are the “missing” files”) Also there are some loose folders named “Straight 4/4” and “Swing 4/4” in your EZX Libraries and other anomalies.
I have no good explanation to how you end up with having this strange folder structure, unless you have been manually moving folders around in the MIDI folder? In that case it is not supported and will create issues like this, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to fix this except to uninstall all drum MIDI libraries and also go to the MIDI folder and remove any remaining subfolders there and then reinstall your MIDI (and then leave it be).
Hope this helps!
For information, the reason it works in Superior 2 is because it simply lists the files/folders on disk whereas Superior 3 has an internal database that matches the original folder structure of the MIDI pack and displays entries from the database instead of actual files. So, the folder you have selected in the image is not part of Metal Foundry and thus doesn’t exist in Superior 3.

That is very strange, my guess is that something went wrong during the update process of Superior 3.
First of all, make sure that you run the latest version of Superior 3, it should say 3.1.2 in the bottom left corner. (see screenshot)
If you already run 3.1.2, try running the update again (after closing all instances of Superior 3)
Then try running the “Restore MIDI Database” in settings again, also press the “Clear All Filters” button if it is still there after you have finished restoring the database.
Let me know if it still doesn’t work 🙂
