Personally I wouldn’t see interfacing EZK2 with EZK1 so that EZB can be fed from EZK1 as a fix. EZK2 and EZB are the current versions of these products and should be integrated… ideally they should be drag and drop.
A workaround that kinda works is dragging midi from EZK2 into EZB end then searching for similar grooves in EXB. This may need a bit of faffing around with midi.
All the best.

From TT support …..
“The development team got back to us and they already had this noted down as a feature request. Seems likely that it will be implemented at some point but we can’t give any guarantees. The “import chords” feature was implemented before the release of EZkeys 2 and continues to support EZkeys 1 chords for now.”

Thanked by: RtB01Thanks for the feedback but no – that’s not how it appears for me … maybe a Windows glich? https://youtu.be/vPQJj1csmfI?si=KTCEr3wXHNTn5Qwj
PS. I checked the standalone version and it looks the same. It looks like the Windows version of this plugin has not been updated to interface with EZK2.
Are there people on here from TT and will pick this up or should I report it as an issue with TT support?
Thanks.

Hmmmm …. the option is ‘import chords fro EZKeys project” which is an .ezkp file. EZK has produced a .ezkp2 file which EZB can’t see as it is filtering files for .ezkp??

Hi John, Does sustain and damping information have a place on a bass track? Sustain is fx on bass and damping is handled with technique … no?
All the best.
Patrick.
I can’t be sure Brad but I think I may have dropped it straight onto the track.

Sorry for not getting back sooner John – things have moved on I guess. Ok – I take your answers and comments and I will see how I get on as I go through and will feedback If I still think there is a usability issues here but I guess if it’s only me mentioning it then there isn’t.
As an aside though the bass part I was struggling with was an EZK2 part that I used – somehow I imported it into EZB … maybe I just drag and dropped it, I can’t remember now but that sustain and damping information must have come from EZK as I certainly didn’t put it in there. Would you expect that to happen?
Thanks again.
All the best.

How do you turn sustain off? This was not a conscious choice. Do you mean just long overlapping notes?
I don’t believe there are any overlapping notes in this example.
Did you give any thought to the other observations:
i) Tempo change when saving EZB project
ii) Playing two notes an octave apart only seem to sound the lower octave … example Eb2/Eb3
iii) Playing the high Bb3 note sounds as if it has chorus on it?

Hi John,
EZbass plug-in version 1.1.8 (build 37147) [64-bit VST 3]
SOUND LIBRARIES
EZbass Modern version 1.1.1
EZbass Vintage version 1.1.1
MIDI LIBRARIES
EZbass version 1.1.0
Project file attached.
PS When you open this project as a stand alone, the issue sounds a little different (but still not good) and the tempo has reverted to 120bpm … my project is at 105bpm

Hi John, I was in a hurray when I posted this so I didn’t really spell it out as much as I should have done.
Three issues:
i) I’m using a ‘short slide up’ and the note is triggering another out of tune note at the same time. At first I thought it was overlapping notes but I have tried shortening the note itself and the the two notes either side of it and the dissonance persists even when there is visibly no overlap. I can do another quick vid to illustrate if required.
PS. I’ve just had another listen – it’s not doing the slide up, it’s playing the starting note and the target note together. When you click on it in isolation it sounds fine.
ii) Playing two notes an octave apart only seem to sound the lower octave … example Eb2/Eb3
iii) Playing the high Bb3 note sounds as if it has chorus on it?
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Regards.

Another vote for extended chords … some of the bass lines that are created are amazing but they can be out of tune when using something as common as maj/min 7ths (and I imagine these are common in all genres). An update would be most welcome as manual correction is a pain.
Thanks.

Thanks Scott. I knew it was there, I just couldn’t remember where. I kept looking at the context menu and I guess I just didn’t twig it would be in the ‘Find’ sub menu.

I’ve given up EZK1 – I’m using Scaler 2 and linking it to a Kontact VI…. it’s an incredible tool.

What’s the story here – EZK definitely is look like the runt of the litter now … no audio tracker, etc… … the interface looks very dated compared to EZB & EZD … not nearly as intuitive. No whispers of an update coming down the line?
All the best.
