Myself, I actually run 4 monitors (with different sizes and resolution), including the built-in Retina display of my Mac so I am thinking that it maybe is an OS difference?
Or I have my Reaper set up somehow differently. I’l try to dig into the Reaper Preferences to see if there might be something to try in there.

    BR,
    John

    Thanks John!

I tried a bunch of my screens display settings with a no go….

    Hi Jeff,

I don’t see that behaviour here in Reaper. I may be running another version (I’m on the latest currently available), I don’t know, my Reaper looks very different but that’s perhaps just your Theme layout? I’m just running the Default layout and have no jerkiness whatsoever when detaching the Grid editor window while running the Reaper Timeline and playing back MIDI on the SD3 Song Track.

    BR,
    John

    Thx John,

Going from that premise that it works on Reaper I just found out that it is because I’m using a big monitor with a dual screen…it works fine on my small monitor in single screen mode (any theme)  but not in dual mode or single mode on the large monitor…Is there a work around for this that you know of?

    Regards, Jeff

What might be nice though is to allow the user to swap not only kit piece sounds but also graphics (irrespective of the sound).

Thanks for the idea, it’s noted 🙂

I noticed there are a lot of EZX packs for sale…I own SD3.

I’m a little confused about the EZDrummer compatibility with SD3. Is there any value in buying EZX packs that include many midi lines to add to my SD3 library of Grooves? OR are many of these Grooves already duplicated in SD3?

Also would I need to own EZD to add EZX packs to SD3?

If this is all moot, let me know.

    Thanks!

Hi, Loving Superior Drummer 3 and the SDX I have...

    Hi,

Loving Superior Drummer 3 and the SDX I have bought so far, “Decades”, “Death and Darkness”, “Rooms of Hansa” and “Progressive Foundry”.

But, will there be a full blown todays latest full Modern Kits SDX at any point. Top leading bran kits that are the latest and greatest in todays world/music?

Im using Death and Darkness for nearly everything at the moment, as that’s the closest I have got. 🙂

Ive finally just bought “Rock Foundry” to add to my collection, still downloading as I type.

    Thanks,

    Mal

    Thanks for confirming that.

Having the ability to rearrange the mixer would be a great feature to add in a future update.

    Operating system: Windows 10

I’ll second this.  I’d love to be able to move all of my stacked channels together.  So instead of a stacked kick being at the complete opposite end of the mixer, I can drag it over next to the stock kick channels.

It isn’t a show stopper to not be able to do this, but it sure is a PITA when you’re trying to build up or tweak a drum sound.

The Rock Foundry SDX is the only library I found sound „louder“ in the default settings

Thank you for the tip! So after spending all that money on SD3 I need to spend another 150$/€? Thats really disappointing…

You could also turn it into a positive and take this fantastic Professional edition tool and get a chance to learn all the ins n outs and all the nuances to make the sounds you’re looking for.

There literally no limitations to what you have now….. Becoming a good producer let’s us have no limitations on whatever we have to work with…

Thanks for your answer. But I need the right sound at the source and thats the problem here. And yeah unfortunately these are the limitations.

These drums sound too soft, even on the max velocity. Of course you can compress and limit the hell out of that, but in the end it will still be a soft hitted drum. Especially for kick/snare and toms, cymbals less but still. It feels like theres missing the last 10-20% of hard hits in all the core libraries. And this youtube video also proofs my point imho.

Yes I have to agree with you… There are limitations and you need to get the sound at the source!

But for that investment of another sdx we have access to a studio drummer playing our style at any time… We’re not having to book a great drummer and hope we get a great performance that doesn’t need to be tweaked later on in the mix because we have changed the arraignments or bass parts….

Don’t get me wrong I understand where you coming from… But we’re moving up into a higher level of professionalism with this gear and it takes more money and then it saves money on the other end…

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to add the ambient mid mike to my current mix, which looks like this:

    Screenshot-2020-03-17-at-22.21.34

I would like to add the “Amb Mid” mike after the “Amb Ribbon” mike, but I don’t see any buttons to do so.

    Is that possible?

Try hitting the EDITING VISIBILITY tab and see if that channel has been hidden.
