Hi, I have been having this issue since I can’t...

Hi, I have been having this issue since I can’t remember when. I have the latest update on SD3 and my DAW is reaper. (Latest update) win 10 is also completely up to date.

As soon as I go into grid mode my DAW stops responding properly the meters stop working, my MIDI controller stops working, I’m trying to listen and do live editing and it gets to be incredibly tedious to work with this issue.

I’m on win 10 with an I9 20 core 48 gig ram motherboard system.

I’ve tried every buffering technique I can think of to try to minimize this issue. It seems to work okay at the beginning of a session but if I’m in a session two or three hours later and start working on it it becomes impossible.

Plz any help would be much welcome!

    Thx, Jeff

I have the same issue in LOGIC. The grid editor is a half a bar or more behind while listening. It makes it impossible to do edits as you have to guess with trial and error…

Usually for that all you have to do is put on your record and monitor functions and it will be playing in real-time.

…and please make sure you are using the latest update, currently 3.2.5😉

    BR,
    John

    Thx John,

I’ve updated everything after my trip and I’m still having the issue. I went back to the 1 core as Scott suggested in the last post….How do I zip a file project again to send to you guys?

    Regards, Jeff

Hi guys, I’ve been trying to reproduce here in Studio One but I can’t.
I am not on Windows though, so that may be part of the explanation. I am using Studio One 5.3.0.

Is there a problematic project you could zip and attach to a post here or is it all projects that are sluggish on your system?

    BR,
    John

    Thx John,

This has been on all my projects. If I start using SD3 grid mode after opening a project it works ok for several minutes but all of a sudden there seems to be a build up resistance and it starts lagging. Sometimes to the point of having to force close my project.

This has happened on both my last desktop that was an I7 with 16 gigs of ram and my current new system that is a desktop I9 20 core 48 gigs of ram. I’m using a dual screen setup but had disconnected the second screen to see if that was the issue, but no change. I have also dedicated 6 cores and even higher in the settings to run SD3. Messed with all my buffering settings in my DAW Reaper, but no change.

    Hi,

I’m still having the same issue in WIN 10. It has completely taken over my DAW (Reaper) and I cannot stop the program or even close SD3…

    PLEASE HELP, Jeff (-;

    Hi again.

No you can’t change the graphic in EZDrummer.

It wasn’t that I was asking for, just to change the black drum in SD3.

    But I’m near a sollution, I think.

It takes alot of time and work to change, but it works.

I will shortly come with some info about it.

    Hi Linus,

Did you ever get it working?

    Curious, Jeff

Thank you Jeff, you’re a star. You’ve solved more than half of my problem. Now, do you know how I can get that name to appear on the EZmix effect on my track? (so I don’t have e.g. three effects all saying EZMix, I’d like them to say e.g. Vocal Slap. Compression etc) Thanks for your help Jeff. Paul

    Glad it worked out!!

I use REAPER as my DAW and you CAN rename your FX per trk (just right click the FX)….I’m not familiar with any other DAW’s to be honest….

Sorry Paul just saw this…. Glad you got what you needed your welcome Man 😎
