What happens is everything freezes and no matter how long I wait it will not come back online, so I hit end task….
So I’m not getting any error message there on the screen…would it be somewhere else?

Ok thx Scott, then could it be the different processes I’m doing while I’m learning the program….?

Quick question…. When I try to adjust the pitch FX real-time slider it constantly bounces back to the middle if I move it with my mouse. If I assign it into a macro it works fine. This happens in both stand alone and in my DAW. It is not assigned to any midi learn either… Any thoughts on this?

P.S. it did work fine the first couple of days I had the program.

    Hi Juicy or Technical support,

I just bought SD3 and have installed it on my SSD (which has my windows software) and the sound library on another drive, I have been experiencing some crashes and thought I should copy my sound library to the SSD drive…What do you guys think?

    Thx, Jeff

    Hi,

currently you cannot open EZdrummer 2 User Presets in SD3. As you guess they are currently not compatible that way, EZdrummer 2 is not a ‘Lite’ version of SD3, it’s a different plugin.

As for the recreation of sound, it should be possible. I don’t know if there’s anything wrong with the interpretation of the Factory Preset or if this is simply down to SD3’s more advanced features but things from the top of my mind you can try is to check:
    > if you have used the Pitch Macro controls, then see if the Tuning module for each instrument is on or not and if it’s Processed or not (Drum Head/Cymbal).
    > SD3 separates the ‘SnareBottom’ from the ‘Snare’ in the Mixer which makes the ‘SnareBottom’ sound unprocessed. If you enter the ‘Route Instrument Microphones’ setup and route the ‘SnareBottom’ microphone to the ‘Snare’ Mixer Channel. Does this bring you closer to what you expect?
Alternatively you can copy over the ‘Black Box’ FX and Sends over by Alt-Click+Drag.
    > the Toms are more separated as well in the SD3 mixer, so you want to check that as well.

    BR,
    John

This is great as a new SD3 owner, could you explain the “black box” fx plz?

I just purchased SD3 and they sent me this video montage and I saw the topic you’re asking about I believe on the second video… Something to do with the mixer 🙂

One way would be to go to TAP TO FIND and tap in the kik & snare pattern (just the basic) and let the search help you find something close…If you don’t have a good pattern in your own midi files to recreate the part hit SHOW WEB SHOP MIDI in the same menu and see what it brings up.

After that you can bring it into edit play style and change or add different parts and then drag it into your daw to fine tweak it to the song…

I would very much like to request:
    Trap Midi Grooves
    and also an
EZX Sound Expansion that incorporates the crushing street credible drum sounds like you would find in Maschine. I love EZDrummer2 & Superior Drummer 3 to death, but one of the biggest eye sores is that Toontrack has no boombastic libraries that contain any street style 808’s & 808 Subs, Huge Claps & Booming Kicks like you hear in all the dance music on the radio, and in the Trap culture. Though Machine libraries are awesome in that area, I’d prefer to stay in the EZDrummer2 & Superdrummer3 software, and be able to make these beats within your software. You’re products are outstanding, and I buy almost everything you come out with……… Unfortunately, in all the years of buying Toontrack sounds, this has been the one thing lacking in a big way (for me that is).

Hope you’re listening & will consider…… not only that, but I feel very confident you’d see a hell of a lot of sales of this type of sound library if you were to make one.

    Best, Glenn Swan (Gabler) http://www.glennswan.com

For the big 808’s try the electronic expansion… Also had GREAT hip hop sounds too

Without a doubt it is worth it. If you do not want to spend lots of time scrolling through your midi groove library for the right parts then that’s worth the price of admission there… That was what sold me 2 plus years ago….
But since then I’ve been able to use it’s more advanced features to the MAXIMUM… Go on YouTube for their videos…. You’ll see why this is a must have if you doing drums all the time.

    Jeff
