I purchased a used Dell Precision Laptop 7730, i7 6 Core 2.6 GHz, 128GB RAM, 1TB SSD for less than AUD $1200 (so USD $800) on ebay (from a reputable computer reseller in australia). A very cost cost effective high performing windows laptop. There was an ebay discount at the time which helped get such a good price.

I also use Taiko from Orchestral Percussion as an x-drum (with transient adjustment for a sharper attack) and it gives a great extra sound dimension when I want low end sounds.

There is a Tama 14 x 20″ Gongdrum in Hitmaker that you could tune down. I use it a lot and as an x-drum in my other SDX libraries.

Suggest you put any “for sales” in the Community Forum under “The Pub” as most people wanting to buy will look here.

I use envelope as per John suggestion but also sometimes use the transient effect as well in the mixer tab to control attack and sustain.

I’m more bothered about getting  rim shots when head and rim are hit together and rim only when just hitting the rim. Also I would like samples of shallow rim shots (they are higher pitch ) so full rim shot with rim and centre and shallow with rim and edge. PS on all toms. Basically anything that allows a drummer playing edrums get a more natural and instinctive feel.

As an e-drummer I agree with Mark. Also more realism in hi hats and smoother transitions between open articulations both opening and closing would always be appreciated by any e-drummers. An opportunity for Toontrack to lead the charge in this (very difficult) area. Hi-Hats are clearly the single most difficult thing to replicate acoustic hi hats with virtual instrument.
