Thanks John – I think I understand.

On a side note do you think Toontrack will ever look at the graphical representation of EZD3 and EZX drum pieces in SD3 or are the generic black toms and silver snares here to stay. It is a bit of a pain as I lose that quick visual reference to know I’ve got the correct kit loaded – especially in live e-kit situations. I often use EZD3 and EZX kit pieces in SD3 for certain musical situations. I often use the “Kicks & Snare” EZX and not being able to “see” the snare or kick to know I’ve got the correct one is a bit frustrating – again especially in live situations. cheers, Andrew

Thanks John. Understand that I can load into either racktom or floortom slots but I’ve shown another screenshot below where I have added it into a racktom position and no graphics showing (not that graphics important to sound) – the lack of a racktom graphic doesnt look good ! cheers Andrew

This works same way in both SD3 and EZD3 but slight subtlety that can be confusing. When you save project as say “andrew Yamaha Kit.ezd3p” in EZD3 (or .sd3p in SD3) then all all information is retained and you can “set as default project” and all info will open every time you open EZD3 (or SD3).

I agree 100% with Jord. As an e-drummer who is always after the most realistic “acoustic” sounding drums I can get, I find that this is now one of my favourite SDX’s. The video is also awesome and great to see how Elliot’s approach to mic positioning etc is a big part of the natural sound. I still create my own user kit sounds to tailor to what I am doing but the starting position in this SDX is SO GOOD !!
